There may be no details yet but picking up GTA V for your PS4 will net you some exclusive content.
Kotaku's Stephen Totilo recently had a chinwag with Rockstar's North American Marketing VP John Koller. The talk produced vague but potentially exciting news plus an appreciation of the fans that made GTA a success.
Kotaku: I there anything to that particular deal or that particular offering that will make it better-suited to play on PS4 instead on any other platforms?
Koller: I don't think we announced anything publicly on that, but there will be. I think GTA V is a title that did extremely well on the PlayStation 3. In fact… the index rate…—the index rate is the amount of people who purchase one platform or the other relative to the install base—it swung well in PlayStation's favor for GTA V, a lot of it because of the partnership we had with Rockstar. We would expect that to happen here, too. GTA is a PlayStation franchise. It started with us. We really feel strongly that it belongs as a key platform driver for us.
Kotaku: You're saying that you can't say what it is, but that there will be something special for PlayStation owners?
Koller: GTA V is going to be, I think, a title we'll talk about more in the weeks and months to come, but GTA V and the GTA franchise is something that will be something very special on PlayStation 4.
Something very special? I like the sound of that. Myself and a few other members here have been able to wait and it seems as though we will be rewarded, not that those who loved the PS3 version aren't free to upgrade as well. We don't yet know if there will be an official upgrade option.
What we do know is that for the online portion at least, PS3 and Xbox 360 saves will transfer to PS4.
Related Game(s): GTA V
Sweetolini. But I hope the PC version too get that same content. I don't think I got a PS4 by the time GTA5 is released for current gen.
What's it gonna take to get you to throw down?
I just feel no urge to get me a box I have to pay a monthly fee to get online until I got a serious amount of games to play.
Ohhhh, well I don't even play online but Plus is worth the $4 a month
Meh. I never was a plus member during the ps3 years, and I feel no need to be it now. I got enough games with the ones I pick and buy myself, I need no $4 monthly rental games on top of that.

That's really not the reason to be a Plus member. At least, not for me. Free games and early access to betas are good enough for me; that's well worth the $4/month. I never rent anything.
You won't regret PS+. You basically get what you paid back and then some more with the Instant Game Collection.
Yeah, I'm going to chime in and say that PlayStation Plus is totally worth it for me, despite being an almost exclusively single-player gamer.
"Free"… It's a rental when you lose the games after you stop paying the rent. And these rentals (stop calling them "free", guys) are usually of games I already own, or have no interest in playing.
And to pay to play betas… Well, sorry, but I don't even play free betas. I don't have spare time to offer free work hours test-running unfinished games for developers. Much less willing to *pay* to do that free work.
I'm just not the target audience for that product.

imo, this game is worth buying ONLY if it allows ps3 save game transfer. that way i dont have to play all over again since there will be other games released when this comes out that id rather spend more time on
F2P GTA Online…
I was a huge "Playstation online is free" proponent especially during my early days of PS3 ownership (2009 and beyond), but I've been a plus member for a couple years now and it's AWESOME. in the last 2 years the amount of quality games I've gotten for free with the instant game collection is staggering.
I'm not much of a D1P guy, only for a few franchises, so to be able to get games like Kingdoms of Amular, Tomb Raider, Uncharted 3, Demon Souls, Nba 2k14, Dragon's Dogma, DMC, Infamous 1 & 2, LBP 1 & 2, LBP Karting, and many many others for the free free has been great.
As a matter of fact, check this list out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Instant_Game_Collection_games_(North_America)
i forgot about Bioshock Infinite (which I downloaded), Battlefield 3 (which i bought, and then re downloaded because I had my saves but traded the game in), Scott Pilgrm, and Payday 2
Well, more reasons to rebuy this. I'll forgive them for not giving me heists and turning online into a grindfest, so long as they bring the wildlife into online. #PS4GTAV?
Ugh… I feel gross for the doing hashtag stuff.
well this is good to hear for you guys and a few friends of mine will be glad to hear this who don't have a ps3 or 360 anymore but a ps4 so yeah this is good to hear for you guys and those of my friends who want it.
happy gaming =)
cool, i hear the update wont have much going for it. On ps4/One it will just be more lifelike with wild animals like squirrels and birds, cats etc. Just little things, that sort of sucks, but hey at least it will be the definitive edition over the others. I hope graphics get a significant bump. And a bunch of bonus ps4 only missions and cars come too.
Also they are right GTA has always had about a 60-65% to 40-35% fan base with Sony over Microsoft. Rockstar should play favorites with sony as a favor to them. Gta also is another reason the psp took off in the beginning. In other words they should also support vita with an all new title.
Well we'll see what happens now wont we?
