After seeing that beautiful trailer at the end of Sony's E3 conference, gamers everywhere have been begging for new information.
We got some thanks to a new video released by Sony, in which Naughty Dog bosses Neil Druckmann and Bruce Straley talk about how they're approaching Uncharted 4: A Thief's End , and how their work on The Last Of Us has influenced the new project. They also spoke about how the PlayStation 4 is allowing them to push the envelope…again:
" [With] The Last of Us, we went to great lengths to try to create this reality, but we were still limited by the amount of overdraw the PS3 could handle, etc. Now, the PS4 is allowing us to push so much more density, so it's fun to go back and go like, 'Oh, look at the things we wish we could have done in Uncharted 1, it's just like, this is easy, let's just make this.' It's nice to be able to explore something and look back and go, 'Wow, remember when we couldn't do any of this?' It's kind of neat. "
We also received an official synopsis for the storyline, which is somewhat vague but still helpful. It says that protagonist Drake is "forced back into the world of thieves" and he's hunting some sort of "fabled pirate treasure." It will test Drake to the absolute limits, too. Of course, we're all wondering if the title is a hint; could this be the last Uncharted game? Or maybe just the last series title to include Nathan Drake?
As for gameplay, here's what to expect, according to Straley:
"Gameplay-wise, we're just going deeper and richer with all the mechanics. It's still going to be a roller-coaster ride and it's still going to have that pacing. We still want you on the edge of your seat, but at the same time, we want to make sure that you as players – I, as a player – want to play this thing and feel invested. And we want to make sure we have that with the epic, with the pacing, with the characters that we're known for."
Just looking at the title… Someone important is gonna die. My bet is Sully.
might be right. might be Sully.
They wouldn't do that after what they did in Uncharted 3, it would be double dipping with the plot and too predictable to boot.
Sully died in Uncharted 1 too until the end lol
but no one is ever dead dead in video games until it shows them being held by someone important while they yell "NOOOooooO!" then it flashes to a graveyard burial scene and a tombstone. then and only then are they dead. that hasn't happened yet for sully and all of his fake deaths so far.

No one will die. Uncharted is lighthearted and intense action. The title implies retirement, one last run before they settle down. I suspect drake already have a 6 year old son. The 5th uncharted woll be Uncharted:Second Son or something like that.
I hope Elena is back.
"Hi, Elena Fisher, last year's model". Lol
She's gonna be the poor wife stuck at home pissed at her husband for leaving her and the baby behind to go gallivanting around the globe.
Except the description for the game says that its been about 7 years since he has been active.
I'm sure it will be another console gaming benchmark of greatness. As far as the title goes, while Drake himself is clearly on the trajectory of a retiree, the "thief's end" doesn't necessarily mean his end. It could be any thief in the historical narrative as "Drake's Deception" was not referring to any deception by Nathan but Francis.
I think we got a huge hint in the trailer and what the title means. Nate has a past and based on the title and the trailer and him asking Sully for his assistance one last time says it all. A thief's end is most likely referring to him reverting back one last time to his old ways. After that he'll be clean as a whistle.
So more like a thief's career end? I'll buy that for a dollar.
Uncharted excels at..
Visuals
Environemnts/Setting
Gameplay
As far as charcters and story line is concerned they need help in that department. That is one reason MGS is my favorite franchise — it's the total package.
As much as I love MGS, Kojima sometimes goes over the top with the stories. Sometimes they are so confusing or complex that I have to rewatch, replay or reread what happened. This is especially bad for those who are new to the series or that have just played a couple of games. It also doesn't help that they release so many games on so many different consoles, much like Kingdom Hearts.
I wouldn't say Uncharted stories need help. They are not original or groundbreaking, but they are well told and well developed. As for the characters, I think they are fun and charming and are a good companions to the stories, but again, nothing groundbreaking either.

I don't disagree with you, but I find the complexity of the story just astoundaing. I was trying to explain to my girlfeind last night that Big Boss is the original, "perfect" soldier and blah blah and she was so confused but yeah I see what you mean.
okay that was pritty cool so hear their side of the story and it's gud to hear they are sticking to what makes their games and sony games in general great the balance of great visuals gameplay and mechanics
happy gaming =)
