Ben-DutkaIt was officially revealed during Sony's E3 press conference, and now we've got an even closer look at Mortal Kombat X .
Pronounced "Mortal Kombat Ex" (it's not "Mortal Kombat 10"), the latest entry in the legendary fighting series should be a bone-crunching good time.
This video shows off several new fighters, a bunch of bad-ass special attacks, and as you might expect, plenty of blood and gore. Developer NetherRealm is obviously striving to produce the darkest, most potentially offensive MK yet…remember when parents and politicians were all ticked off about MK in the arcades back in the day? Can you imagine if this had been in the arcades for kids to play? Heck, I wouldn't have blamed them for freaking out.
Anyway, fighting aficionados should be excited about this one. Maybe a launch date isn't too far off.

hehe it's just so disgusting I can't play it.
EDIT: in the old days with it being lower res 2D pixels it still left a lot to the imagination and I was fine with that. Now, it's just so vivid and detailed it's a turn off and distracting to why I like fighters in the first place.

I love it, but now I don't have the patience to learn all the moves like back in the day.
on a related note, I'm concerned about my beloved fighters. Where the crap is Tekken? Tekken has always been on the forefront of a PS generation. Right now there isn't as much as even an announcement. The press conferences are over too so I'm feeling hopeless for anything anytime soon.

What are your fighters?
I love DOA, Tekken, and VF. The original cast of martial-arts based 3D fighters.
Those have been on the down low lately ever since Street FIghter came back on the scene and made 2D fighters cool again.
I'm trying to get into SFIV and SF X Tekken more. I like them both (I play them on my PC. My PS3 fight stick works with them!). But because I'm lesser experienced with those I just don't have the closeness that I have compared to say Tekken (Tekken 3 was a game I played competitively at the arcades back in the day. I won a local tournament).

This looks epic. This will easily be a day 1 purchase for me. Loved the last entry so much and this looks like that on steroids. New x ray moves, new fighters, and new fatalities. Sold
Oh GREAT! Since games obviously cause violence, now it's all but guaranteed we're going to have all kinds of children hurling harpoons through schools yelling "COMMERE!" /sarc
Ok it looks really cool and good but disappointed in the cross-gen handicap.
What and where are the new mechanics? We had X-rays from the previous. Environmental attacks better not be all because that barely counts as a competitive mechanic (stage dependent).
All it really does is makes me so goddamn excited for a new gen Street Fighter and Soul Calibur! Will look so beautifully Godly.
i see some new moves. Sub-zero can throw his ice clone. Scorpian can send a flame wave down his harpoon chain then thrust forward with a Raiden style attack. It looks like his X-ray move initiates from a throw this time too.
Why do I have the feeling that this could be on the front page on CNN with some politicians being cited…?
Those effects look awesome.
I think they are over MK cuz it's hand to hand murder, only gun violence gets headlines now.
I do love how the launch trailer got a ton of hate because it was Scorpy and Subby, and so Boon ensures there is more Scrop and Sub in the gameplay demo. Ed Boons the man.
While the new characters look kind of cool, I'm worried it will leave less room for all the classic MK fighters.
Most classic chars rafters are dead now from the ending in mk9. Some of these are their replacements. One is related to Johnny cage and whatnot. I am just glad subzero and scorpion are back. They were great in mk9.
It bugs the crap outta me that they're using streamed videos to showcase these instead of using the actual footage or using a higher quality source.
man that game play tralier was ruthless as but it was gunna it was everything that mortal kombat is supposed to be
