Bloodborne Is Indeed A PS4 Exclusive

It was one of the best trailers of E3 in our estimation, and now we learn the game will be exclusive to the PlayStation 4.

From Software's brand new promising IP, Bloodborne , has been confirmed as a PS4 exclusive, and it's scheduled to launch some time next year.

The setting is an ancient, forgotten city named Yharnam. This metropolis is well known for a mysterious old remedy, and many afflicted individuals have traveled to Yharnam for the cure. You play as one of these travelers but when you reach the city, you find it overrun with a terrible endemic illness. It doesn't help that nasty beasts roam the streets, making survival that much more difficult. Said game director Hidetaka Miyazaki:

"Creating Bloodborne as a completely new game on the new PlayStation 4 hardware has allowed us to really push the envelope in myriad ways. That being said, in more ways than one, it also very much retains our distinct, signature style. As has been at the core of our development philosophy since Demon's Souls, we make true games for people who love games. Please watch for more to come on Bloodborne, and thank you very much for your support."

I'm just hoping it's not exactly like Demon's Souls and Dark Souls . They're just a little too hardcore for me, you know? Don't have that kind of time anymore, and I'd like something a little more focused on the strategy/role-playing side. Can't wait to see some gameplay!

We already knew it was a ps4 exclusive… That's not new.

What's new is the IP. The art style is Dark Souls Artorias of the Abyss which is great. The protagonist looks a lot like Chester, whose a character thats full of mystery. The game will be amazingly epicfullness. I've watched the trailer more times than I should have.

Bah, we need to know if it's going to be hopelessly difficult.

You'd rather have your testicles sliced open then play a game? And you contribute to a gaming site?

Well, it had the Sony Japan logo in the trailer, so I assumed it was another collaborative development, meaning definitely an exclusive, like Demon's Souls. Cool concept. Will certainly buy, and I'm now definitely going to get a PS4 next year. 🙂

Yeah, Japan Studio is publishing it. It's been known for a while they were assisting From with the game, I doubt Sony would do that without exclusivity.

I hope this is next gens Demons Souls/Dark Souls (More DS2 than DS1) greatness, but something entirely new yet familiar. These games aren't hard, they just require patience. This and GTAV are making that ps4 purchase inevitable.

From what Miyazaki has said I think it's going to be tougher than the souls games. In the Souls game, you can step back and assess your surroundings. Miyazaki has said in Bloodborne, if you play defensively you will be overrun by baddies quickly. Sounds like fast-paced punishment to me!! BRING IT ON 😀

Sounds like Bloodborne is going to be more of an aggressive action game that relies on quick dodge and block movements over Demon Souls wait and react style of play. They have a really good break down of 30 minute game play demo over at PlayStation Universe. Here's the link:

I'm all for more PS4 exclusives, but I too am hoping they don't go too overboard with the difficulty.
I tried Dark Souls for a short while, didn't find it that fun and now it just collects dust. Which is a shame because I love the art direction.

The footage shown definitely looked great (and brutal), but that was all cut-scenes… I just hope the actual game will look as good once we finally see some real gameplay!
