Sherman Becomes First CB Ever To Land On A Madden Cover

Is anyone really surprised?

While it's not common for a cornerback to grace the cover of a Madden game (in fact, it has never happened), we haven't seen a cornerback quite this flashy in a while.

After the annual voting to determine the cover athlete of the latest Madden entry, the public chose outspoken and controversial Seattle Seahawks CB Richard Sherman. As usual, EA created a competitive bracket and this year, 16 players were in contention. Nearly 10 million votes were cast overall and Sherman took out players like Carolina Panthers QB Cam Newton, New Orleans Saints TE Jimmy Graham, and San Francisco 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick.

This is fitting because EA Sports has made it plain that they've worked hard on the defensive aspect of Madden NFL 15 . Well, that's good, because it remains the least authentic part of the franchise.
