Looks like it'll be quiet on the Square Enix front at E3 this year.
While fans were hoping to get some news concerning Final Fantasy XV and Kingdom Hearts III , the company says this year's show "is not the most suitable time to release such information."
In a recent Famitsu interview (as translated by Kotaku ), Square Enix boss Shinji Hashimoto said FFXV is moving along smoothly, but they don't have anything new to say about it right now. However, there is a silver lining:
"First, I just want to say that Final Fantasy XV's development is progressing favorably. In the company, we're always trying to figure out the optimal timing to release new information to the fans. We decided that this year's E3 is not the most suitable time to release such information. Instead, we are preparing for an event after E3 to make new announcements."
Well, that's something to look forward to, right? As for KHIII, Hashimoto said they're simply "working hard on the game" and they need "some more time" before they start making any new announcements. If you remember, the third and long-awaited Kingdom Hearts entry was revealed at last year's E3.
Guess they can't be expected to wow us two years in a row.
Related Game(s): Final Fantasy XV, Kingdom Hearts III
That sounds like it'll be good for Tokyo.
Really not good enough S-E. Lightning Returns is finished and now is the time to entice us with the future of the franchise, I hope this is just a bluff to to surprise us.
Who cares about SE nowadays? Last generation I did not buy any FF games. Heck I didn't buy anything with Square Enix written on it.
Think that would be in the Ubisoft booth
SE sucked last year two.
Sony tweeted the E3 trailer for KH 2.5 remix and at the end was a teaser for KH3.
So much for FFXV being at every major gaming event :/
Umm, it doesn't matter if you have new information. If the game is looking and going well after these last 10 years or so then you should deliver a trailer just so people won't hate you.
By the time this game comes out I'll probably have kids. Not cool. Damned SE, "please be excited for E3" well its here, and I'm excited for things not related to YOUR games.
We'll have kids that are still playing FFVII
I didn't have kids when it was first announced as vs 13… Heck… I wasn't even engaged, let alone married. Celebrating our 6th anniversary tomorrow and we have a 2.5 year old and 5 month old.
This is so annoying. I swear this company announces games 1 week after development has started. I would prefer if a company doesn't tell us anything about their game until its almost done (ie 1 year of development left max). SE don't know how to handle fans at all.

Absolutely terrible decision.. It would've been a lot better if they didn't say anything at all. That is, unless its a ruse, in which case nice!
But really, TGS is way too late, at this rate it'll come out fall 2015 and I honestly don't think it'll compete too well against all the absolutely crazy titles for next year. I see a lot of games getting pushed back to 2016 actually….
While I didn't expect any news on KH III (although hopeful), I was at least hoping for some sort of news on FF XV 🙁
At least SE are saying they'll something to show after the event, but its still left me a little sour. A release date would be nice….
I didn't realize people were still holding out hope that this game wouldn't be abysmal.
The only thing with Square-Enix's name on it worth buying anymore comes from Eidos.
Well, that's one E3 prediction down: SQUARE ENIX on FFXV & KHIII…nothing to report.
