It could end up being one of the best games of 2014.
The more we hear about Driveclub , the more impressed we become. To impress you still further, the Euro PlayStation Blog has given us 51 new details that "might just blow your mind."
Included in the list are things like, "skies are uniquely generated every time you play," "road tarmac textures are hand-modeled rather than tiled or tessellated," and "a typical Driveclub car is made up of 260,000 polygons." There are many more worth checking out, and it makes the latest effort by Evolution Studios sound all the more appealing. The best part is that they're "adding new elements every day" so by the time the game launches in October, we should all be in for a very tasty treat.
Personally, I was most encouraged by what I read about the AI. How about you?

hopefully the delay pays off like it did for Watch Dogs
ummm, no. watch dogs wasnt worth the wait or delay. imo.
Watch Dogs looked worse after the delay, so I hope not.
hopefully the delay pays off like it did for Watch Dogs
I have to say this looks impressive. It looks like it might be worth the wait after all.
They really made an effort in the AI, geographical and geological departments. Sweet!
Alright…my faith is being restored again.
people tend to forget gran turismo is the king of racing on playstation. this game is just an appetizer.
GT is a full SIM this is closer to Forza so hopefully will appeal to more people. I really hope this sells well would be nice to have another strong racing series on Sony consoles.
Very excited for this game. Gran Turismo has always been kind of draggy for my taste. The PS+ version will give me a good idea of if I want to buy the whole game or not. If there wasn't a plus version I probably would have preordered it by now.
Ummm… about that 1:1 Thrustmaster Wheel feel….
They don't make a single racing wheel for the PS4…

any chance thrustmaster wheels will work on PS4?
Reading all of that makes me think how ahead PD really is with the tech stuff under the GT series for the PS3, including the work ethic and effort. Most of them are already done by PD with the GT series up to the 6th installment. They just don't really talk about it.
260k polys is not that impressive anymore to me since GT and Forza have been doing it for years (and even upwards of 400k plus), but it's enough for next gen so I don't mind.
Can't wait for this game! The audio is really something to look forward to, since GT has always lacked consistency and feel in this department.
the realism of a car after so many polies is less dependent on geometry as it is everything else the graphics are doing. So whether 260K (plenty for a very believable car) seems low or not is less important than all the other elements that sell the realism of the car. I have no doubt whatever is being done with Driveclub the net result eclipses everything from the prior gen, graphics wise.
I'm not big on racing games but this really got me excited about it. Looks the delay really was for the better. I like the amount of effort that Evolution is putting into the game's minute details. If I enjoy the PS+ version, I'm definitely gonna buy the full game.
tech wise it looks ok, especially the audio seems like theres a lot of attention to detail being paid with that which is nice.
one thing i hate about most racing games these days, the cars just sound dull and listless, NOTHING like what they do in real life!
especially going into a tunnel, how many games just spurt out the exact same tune for every environment?
just stupid really ruins the experience!
that said though, people never were worried about the tech, thats always been pretty decent.
people are worried about the gameplay, were still yet to see much live gameplay footage!
im really getting sick of racers shoving this social statistical MP crap down my throat too, autolog really just destroyed NFS!
and thats ruining this too, this looks more like a game suitable for facebook, than the console supposedly created "4 the gam3rs!".
There have been quite a few hands on gameplay vids. While the controls most certainly have been fine tuned by now, even all the way back to last year's e3 the controls were said to be acceptable.
I'm not a fan of racing games but this game has always looked intriguing. The 50 points they made were all impressive but #51 is probably the "best"
well that sound great to me can't wait
happy gaming =)
