Okay hockey fans, this is what the next generation of virtual hockey will look like.
EA Sports has tossed up the first still image of NHL 15 ; check it out on Twitter . It depicts San Jose Sharks center Joe Thornton and the detail is mighty impressive.
This will be the first next-gen installment in the long-running franchise, and it'll boast a lot of nifty tech. For example, it'll feature character models with three layers that behave independently: The athlete's body, the equipment, and the jersey. You can see evidence of that in the screenshot, can't you? Sports games just look better and better with every passing year but with new hardware, we're expecting a significant graphical boost.
EA was also nice enough to reveal the retailer-specific pre-order bonuses. If you put your deposit down at GameStop or EB Games, you'll receive $24 in Hockey Ultimate Team gold-level card packs, which equals one pack per week for 24 weeks. All other retailers will offer $15 in Ultimate Team card packs.
NHL 15 is slated to arrive this fall for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

thats a really clean pic.
Im impressed by the graphics. However I just want them to put the hardware to use to make the computer better able to "think" during gameplay.
No Vita? That is a pity. Used to love NHL on my PSP.
