Ben-DutkaIt seems industry insiders are getting peeks at the new Uncharted …and they're suitably impressed.
As reported by DualShockers , insiders Ahsan "Thuway" Rasheed and Tidux have apparently seen the latest build of Naughty Dog's new franchise entry.
Rasheed's comment:
"Uncharted PS4 visuals will make you say, 'Quantum/Order/Division who?' Stupidly impressive tricks and tech."
Rasheed added something about "Castlevania Souls," but bear in mind that Rasheed is referring to the currently code-named "Project Beast," in development at Dark Souls developer From Software. If you're interested, some brief footage of "Project Beast" emerged this past week via GIFs .
Next up, Tidux tossed in his two cents about the new Uncharted :
"Just seen a new build of Uncharted, I have no words #GreatnessAwaits #PS4"
He also said the new installment will have a "tropical setting," which sorta reminds me of the original Uncharted: Drake's Fortune back in 2007. At any rate, Sony should unveil the new PS4 exclusive at E3, so stay tuned!
I'm glad they're suitably impressed, I hope I get to be impressed too at E3.
Knowing Uncharted the tropical setting will just be one of many. I just hope it all hangs together better than 3 and is a sock knocker like U2.
While the campaign in UC3 was about 3 hrs too short its still better than 98% of games released since!
Before i do a story replay i just play the co op campaign on hard/crushing 1st …it adds about 5 hrs to the overall experience
Quite right it was much better than your average game. That's the curse of being the best, you have to somehow be even better every time. My main issue was with the quest plot being weak and sometimes almost senseless as an excuse to get all over the globe. The personal plots with Sully and Elena were good stuff though.
This game will make me drop cash on a brand new PS4
This. Even though I'm still mad Sony raised the price of PS4 here in Canada, I will forgive and forget for a PS4/U4 bundle though.
I hadn't heard about this price raise til now.
Normally I'd be annoyed, but I already got mine at launch.
So it finally pays to be an early adopter.
Just as long as it doesn't die a few weeks after the warranty runs out.
But it still blows how often Canada gets charged more for everything than the states.
Weakened Canadian Dollar and Sony not wanting people in the U.S. Who live near the boarder taking a short trip and buying at a nice discount.
Definitely getting day one, but more out of obligation to continue the series in my collection than genuine excitement to play it. Soured after 3.
Why? Granted 2 was better, but 3 was anything but bad.
You can't criticize 3 because 2 was a masterpiece.
Not bad, just extremely disappointing. Started with Naughty Dog showing every one of the major setpieces of the game at trade shows. A bad story with too much self importance that translated to poor pacing and BORING, lazy gameplay, like any scene that had to do with young Drake, and an unsatisfying ending. Lastly,the whole schtick of the series has just worn out on me. Drake's "No, no, no!", the "random" falling. It was so predictable in its attempt to be unpredictable, I was calling loose handholds with uncanny accuracy.
I agree that 2 was an absolute masterpiece. Without a single flaw, in this gamer's humble opinion. Unfortunately, this makes Uncharted 3's misfires much more heartbreaking.
Uncharted is a series I truly want to spark the excitement it once did. I bought Drake's Fortune day one before work, went home for a quick test drive. Thirty minutes later, I was calling my boss using a personal day, and 7 hours after that, I was back on the boat fending off attackers for a second time. I beat DF about ten times, about the same for AT. I watched the trailer for AT so much that my wife and kids had it memorized. I haven't been able to go through Deception for a second time. Like I said, I hope this new one brings back the kid wonderment I had for the series.

But…but… Those 3 people left ND meaning something horrible is going on meaning the games will look and play way worse!
Amy was the biggest blow. I fully expect to see a difference in story telling. Maybe for better maybe for worse. Either way she was a huge part of why people fell in love with the franchise; the characters and their stories.
Insiders: Telling us exactly what we expect since 2013. (Or maybe longer; I just don't remember seeing many headlines about such people before last year.)

I hope that the reason so many people left the company was just to go off and do new things with the knowledge that the game was in good hands. If I just said something stupidly wrong that could have easily been avoided by reading some very easily seen article explaining that situation I apologize.
ANYWAYS, I would love to see Uncharted go more tropical again.
I love my ps3. Been playing through 3 TALES OF series, Arcania, Diablo 3, and a few other old rpgs I bought for cheap recently. Thank god for it and my Vita Because …..
The ps4, as far as games go, is THE WORST CONSOLE I HAVE EVER BOUGHT in terms of great games out for it in the first year, and this is coming from an admitted Sony fanboy.
Sony seems to bring out an A game for the ps3, the ps4 and Vita, sparingly for each system so that you have to have all 3 in order to keep your gaming up.
Thank God I got a WiiU and Mario Kart.
Uncharted will sell very well, not matter how OVERRATED this game might end up being, just like the boring sucky game known as Watch Dogs. Why?
Because it will be the ONLY game in town for Sony.
End of line.
I'm proud to have these exclusives, I expected nothing less from Naughty Dog. Gotta love this team.
Even though Amy left, but i think ND is not a one person team. Santa Monica had the members leave every God of War and the game continues to exceed in expectations each time. ND will do fine.
