Ben-DutkaIf you're an avid Demon's Souls and Dark Souls fan, you've heard of "Project Beast."
Reportedly the working title for developer From Software's new PlayStation 4-exclusive title, the game might show up at E3. In the meantime, all we've got are some tasty screenshots that will definitely remind you of the aforementioned titles.
Now, as posted at NeoGAF , there are some GIFs that show off the game's dark, foreboding atmosphere and a bit of the compelling combat. This footage appears to be accurate, as lines up with those screenshots. We don't have much in the way of details, but you can bet that millions of anticipated gamers are waiting anxiously for the info…after all, those Dark Souls followers are very passionate.
This could be one of the most important PS4 exclusives on the horizon (if it is indeed exclusive), and I hope it drops at the end of the year. 'Cuz right now, outside of Driveclub , I can't think of a top-tier AAA PS4 exclusive currently set for the holiday season.
Let's hope this is true because it will cause all X360, X1 and PC souls fans to buy a PS4! This alone could win E3 for Sony. If Sony announces The Last Guardian PS4 to release Winter 2014 that will win E3 for 2015!!!! 🙂
TLG better be cross gen at least cause i want my f#*king ps3 game i was promised way back in 2009!
Last i heard it was under heavy optimization,can't see that much optimizing being needed for x86 even with 4gig gddr5 ram dev kits.
I'd say the ice team were brought in to do the same thing that naughty dog did with Tlou which is to design(redesign)everything in high res textures then compress the living sh!t out of them to fit with the 256mb video & 256 unified system ram ….plus theres the 80 million users to 8 million & then theres the question of why it was'nt announced straight away as a ps4 exclusive coming 2014-15!
Only TLG & Agent are holding me off getting a PS4.

I had wondered why most of the team at Monster Hunter worked on Dark Souls 2 and the people who worked on Demons and Dark Souls were missing. This is the reason.
And with Japan Studios working on it, its definitely a playstation exclusive.

If anything its more reminiscent to how games used to be: skill, patience, trial and error. Highly rewarding franchise.
I really liked the demon souls and dark souls games. Never finished them though, cause "ain't no one got time for dat!"
That's why I can't play them, all those skills I had as a kid are shot, especially timing and patience. It's only rewarding because anything is rewarding after you've died 20 times trying to do it. I want something dark and smart and fun, as Underdog says I really get unnerved when I've dumped in even one or two hours of my day that are essentially stricken from my life because I made no progress whatsoever.
Then go play Skyrim!!! Don't ruin an experience that true gamers crave.
How am I ruining it by hoping it will be playable for more people?
Because there are games that are "playable" for people who don't want a challenge, if this game becomes easy, then I have nothing to play except easy crap that isn't as fun. Regardless, From Software will never ease up on this franchise, they will only continue to improve with online balancing.
Not really in the same boat as you Worldendwithme ,cause i lov the souls games difficulty , but i also wanted a game like those but with quicker progression .
Why i was so happy afer seeing gameplay footage of Lord of the Fallen won t be easybut look more fogivig then the sols games. If you don t know about that game , i would suggest you look into it World .
I'm ok with high levels of difficulty, PSNFrench. But the additional things that don't add to difficulty but just punish you harder are what are hard to take.
If you ask me, it should have taken more souls to level up, but you shouldn't lose them. Because even if you're highly leveled, a long fall will still kill you.
I got more than halfway in both games, but eventually, I just wanted to move onto the next game. It had nothing to do with difficulty, etc. But when you start to want to play other games, then you dump 2 hours into it only to have no souls/exp to show for it… yeah… even if you don't progress in level, you should at least have something to show.
The fact is, it should maintain difficulty but be more accessible to more people. There's no reason not to do that.
I belive that Sony is behind this leak to take away hype from MS exclusives like Halo 5, Quantum Break, Sunset overdirve. And I think that this leak is genius, cause only some gif´s made many people so hyped and MS needed to reavel their E3 projects by themselves while Sony stays in the dark and uses new kind of tactics in console-wars. Most of gamers right now talking about project Beast, not "ratcher and clank" clone with "infmaous" gameplay elements.

Hoping this one is real, because it is definitely a PS-exclusive worth having. Loved Demon's Souls. The two Dark Souls games remain, as yet, in my backlog. Can't wait to get to 'em though.
