As one might expect, the hugely anticipated Watch Dogs has hit big.
Ubisoft has announced that their newly released IP has "sold through more copies in its first 24 hours than any previous title in the company's history."
Many reviews have praised the game, even if the overall Metacritic average sits in the low 80s. There are plenty of 9+ analyses out there and it seems like many gamers are having tons 'o fun with the open-world hack-fest. Said Ubisoft co-founder and CEO Yves Guillemot:
"“Watch Dogs is an amazing achievement and our teams should be proud that the creativity, innovation and long hours they invested in making this game are paying off. It’s great to see so many players enjoying the game, and it shows that Watch Dogs has cracked the code for developing a new blockbuster IP and a thoroughly new-gen experience.”"
The press release didn't provide us with an exact number but it's obvious that Watch Dogs is already a rip-roaring success. The question is, how will it stack up against Ubisoft's other huge 2014 game, Assassin's Creed: Unity . One is an established franchise and the other is a new series, so…
If you're playing Watch Dogs , what's your take on it so far?

I wonder how much of a factor reviews played into these day one numbers. I sort of think the combination of a release drought and AAA status production just made this one an easy buy for many.
I agree with Temjin that this sort of drought, or rather sudden blast of games being delayed has helped. I personally was day one on this game until the delay happened. When delays happen, I get skeptical and rightly so with this one. The reviews are good but not what I was expecting when this game was first revealed and the hype surrounding it. Not to mention those pesky little issues. Now I may never play it and based on what I'm hearing, I'm okay with that.

I don't know what your hearing but I've read nothing but good things based on everywhere I've read. It's worth at least trying. So far, it gets a thumbs up from me. Graphically even.
You should check out some compilation videos of Watch Dogs on youtube. Look up "true next generation experience" and you'll see the game where people and water not responding to the bullets. Cars that pushes people back rather running over them.
Play the game. A decision shouldn't be based on a questionable video on YouTube. Play the game and based your decision on whether you want to keep on playing. If you want my opinion, I think the game looks great as it is and it's fun to play. There are lots of cool things in this game and, if you have any interest, should play this game.
Well don't get me wrong I never said it wasn't good. I just said that what I'm hearing makes me feel okay about my decision not to buy it on day one. What I'm hearing is there's issues with the game. Bugs if you will.
Happy for the success of the hardworking devs but troubled at the overhype that was done by the gaming media on this one. They certainly pushed this game down everyone's throats as the be all, end all. And while fun as hell (i shouldn't really complain then), it's an extremely by the numbers game that takes very little chances and pushes the boundaries of nothing.
Im going to just keep an eye out for this one but I'm not getting it yet. I believe assassin creed story lines were a bit overrated. It's mainly due to the fact that they left the desmond's story open-ended to plan for the sequel. i am expecting Ubisoft to do the same watchdog and worse. Heck i believe they are halfway through developing Watchdog 2 already. If they leave this big "to be continued" ending, i will just skip these games from now on.
More than AC? That is impressive. I hope everyone who bought it day 1 is having as much fun as they'd hoped. I was a little disappointed to hear about the overly simplistic hacking myself but I may bargain bin it if I care about city sandbox games again suddenly.
I enjoy the Arkham City type of hacking. It's simple yet it takes a bit of trial and error.
Caved. Bought it, and its amazing. Absolutely love the game so far. Just driving around is relaxing.
yah, driving around can be relaxing. sometimes I stop by McDonalds and grab a Happy Meal while I'm out.

many people enjoying the game, and many more swearing their heads off because this has so many bugs it makes fallout 3 on ps3 look like uncharted 2!
not that they care though……..
game is whatever and became that way real fast. i feel like im playing gta mixed with dues ex and infamous. run here, hack it, run there hack it. mission complete.
its become extremely repetitive to where i dont even care if i finish the game. theres nothing else out there to play so i guess im just killing time with it.
this game was completely over hyped as i called it long ago
