The team that brought you Killzone is working on a role-playing game.
As strange as that may sound, it appears to be true. Rumblings from industry insiders confirm that Guerrilla's new IP – which has been in the works for over two years – is indeed an epic RPG.
But what sort of role-playing experience can we expect? Well, according to Shinobi602 (an insider who has been right before), it's going to be similar to The Witcher in terms of "scope." That's sort of a general term but I'm willing to bet he's referring to the sheer size of the virtual landscape. We've heard from other sources that the game will be open-world but that's not exactly surprising, as all Western RPGs have basically gone that direction.
Supposedly, we'll get details on this intriguing new project during Sony's E3 press conference, which has been set for Monday, June 9 at 6 p.m. PST . Do you think Guerrilla can make a top-notch RPG…?
Please be close resembling a Skyrim type of game. That would be so nice. DA:I and The Witcher 3 are looking pretty grand, but another Elder Scrolls would be best.
For GG there should be no reason not to bring back the heavy weighted controls from KZ2, if it is indeed an RPG.
So happy about this. Sony studio experiments are so fun to anticipate, anything could happen. Since they know first person and sci fi I'm thinking maybe something like Fallout. Hopefully they have an idea for an environment that is unique and not generic.
Would be kinda cool to see if they could do 3rd person too.

Comparing an unannounced game to an unreleased one. That's rather bizarre and pointless.
I predict that it'll be a sci-fi FPSRPG in the vein of Destiny. I just hope that it's designed as much as a single player game as much as an MP one.
I'll probably get pretty hyped for this. GG can give it some nice graphics and art. Their engines are also very nice.
well i'll like to see what they've got to show so far and keen to see what it's potential is going forward it should be interesting
happy gaming =)
I hope it's 3rd person. If it's 3rd person it'll be a must-buy for me, if not… SKIP
hmmmmm, forgive me if im a little skeptical.
CD have been doing RPGs for years, and are one of the VERY few studios have mastered the balance between story, combat, and world/characters.
this is GGs first RPG game, and their worlds/ characters, stories, and combat have all been pretty meh.
so again forgive me if i say sure when pigs fly backwards while reciting the national anthem and cooking my breakfast!
I practically agree with you except I'm pessimistic.
I don't think GG has any capacity to make a world or characters that I would care about. They need to hire some new talent if this is their intended direction.

GG can make anything they want, and dam good.
Ill take a serious look at this since Im gravitating away from shooters to RPG's.
