Massive 2.3GB ACIV Patch Tackles Single-Player Issues

When you go to play Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag on your PS4, you'll be promoted to download a big update.

Update 1.04 comes in at a massive 2.3GB and it centers on the game's lengthy single-player campaign.

Among other things, the patch fixes the Friends bug that wouldn't let gamers sign into uPlay if they had more than 100 Friends. It also repairs a few other issues; here's the full list:

Another update is on the way that will tackle reported multiplayer issues. Given a game this size, any significant glitches can prove immensely irritating. Have you encountered any of the problems this new patch fixes? How about multiplayer? Any problems there?

I earned the platinum on this game back in December, and nearly ran into no issues at all. I think it froze once, and I never payed attention to the other stuff. All in all, great experience.

I didn't platinum it (damn legendary boats), but I played the bejeezus out of it and had never a single problem.

I already finished it as well, and only experienced a lock-up once. None of the above-mentioned fix items appear that important, imo.
What they *should* fix are:

-> sudden weather changes. It can go from massive storm to clear blue skies in a snap. And it's even more goofy when you're swimming and this sudden weather change occurs.

-> a trophy/achievement for finding all the chests, shantys, hunting, city upgrades, etc. With no incentive to actually do those things, the game can be pretty short.

Are there that many issues on the PS3 version?

I ask since I have not picked it up and if this is the case, with such a LARGE patch…. I would wait for a GOTY edition or something. Not that Ubisoft is famous for doing that. For now, I will pass. Thats just touch much of a patch for me. I know to some it may not be a big deal, but that must have been a lot of re-coding to fix something one would have thought would have been caught in beta.

Anyway, hope it makes those playing on the PS4's experience that much better.

Keep playing!

2.3 isn't "massive". Dead Rising 3 had a 13gb update. Though it didn't use an extra 13gb from your system, it overwrote older data and such, so for example it made the whole game data go from 23gb to 25gb rather than from 23gb to 36gb. I don't actualy know how big the game is.

I wondered what that was all about. Tried to go to my fleet and was told I had an update going. I was shocked at the size. But like Killa said, the one for Dead Rising was really ridiculous. I bet it was a patch just to fix what needed fixing on day one so they could release it on schedule.

Well I never had a issue playing three single player at all. Been working on the freedom cry dlc and have not seen any issues there either.tried the mp but the graphics took a good fall and couldn't bring myself to play it…

hope it fixes the rampant clipping issues as well.
if i had a nickel for every time i ran up to something to climb it, but instead fused myself to it, well you get the idea by now.
i miss the good old days where games were actually, you know, PLAYABLE ON RELEASE!
not treating their loyal fans like beta testers!

speaking of updates though, why do you have to start the game to be prompted with the update?
isent automatic updates kinda the whole point of putting the ps4 in standby instead of turning it off?
