"Ha. Doubtful."
That's the response a fan received at the PlayStation Blog when he asked Naughty Dog community strategist Eric Monacelli if we'd see Uncharted 4 for the PlayStation 4 in 2014 and/or a Game of the Year Edition for The Last Of Us .
The only problem is that we're not sure to which question Monacelli was replying. It could've been to both; if so, we're disappointed. We had hoped to see the new Uncharted 4 on PS4 for the 2014 holiday season. Historically, new entries in the series have always launched later in the year, so does this mean we're looking at a holiday 2015 release? That's too damn far away!
As for a TLoU GotY Edition, that should be possible. I don't see the problem producing one of those later this year. Put it out, include that single-player expansion, Left Behind (and any other DLC you release), and people will definitely respond, I say.
Can't just be vague man.
I was a almost certain we would see Uncharted 4 this year. But ND and Sony have never been shy about it and we should have seen something by now going back to previous entries. But I'm still keeping my fingers crossed. Not sure exactly what kind of response that is.
I'm waiting for the goty version before I buy, just a much better deal all the way around. Although I'm thinking it could be a while since they are still releasing dlc.
Definitely want to finish the dlc before releasing the goty version.
we need more SP DLC, ND 🙂
NO!
I Agree i want to play as every person we encountered through the game, like Bill, the two Brothers, and how Joel Meet Tess or those letters.
I'm fine with no GotY edition for TLoU. Most people would probably only cry about how it's not on PS4. I wouldn't be surprised if the next Uncharted was a mid-2015 game. Mid-year didn't serve The Last of Us too badly, and I think Uncharted would go gangbusters no matter when it launched. And then they could move into a 1.5 year release schedule, giving them three years between projects. Imagine Uncharted 2 and 3 with an extra year's development time each.
That's what I'm talkin' aboooouuuuuut.
I think Uncharted 3 could have used a little more time. Uncharted 2 on the other hand didn't need it. Of course we could argue that it could have gotten better the longer the development but that's not the case. It still to this day stands up to anygame out there.
typical ND, comment on everything but be as broad and vague as possible!
sigh.
might as well start communicating in hieroglyphics, will still get the same amount of information out of them!
Naughty dog releases their games a year after they had significant gameplay video. Conaidering the U4 had a vague trailer, I doubt they are close to ready. Naughty dog was probably forced to unveil something for the PS4 launch.
Yeah, sadly considering all we've seen so far is basically an Uncharted logo probably means the game is still pretty far away from release…
Looking at U2/U3 there was plenty of trailers and gameplay video well in advance of release…
Ok, looking at the link and reading the particular comment shows that he was responding to this comment: "UC4 Easter eggs??? UC4 for PS4 in 2014â¦LOU GOTY edition please!!!!!!! for PS3!"
To me, I think he just meant that there won't be UC4 easter eggs in the DLC.
Yea, it's been clarified that he was responding directly to the Easter Egg thing, so both of the others remain a possibility.
