After 20 Years, R.B.I. Baseball Finally Returns This Spring

Twenty very long years. That's how long R.B.I. Baseball has been lying dormant.

The last time we saw this iconic baseball franchise was in 1994, when R.B.I. Baseball 95 released for the Sega 32X, and we were pretty convinced it was dead and buried.

But believe it or not, Major League Baseball has taken it upon themselves to resurrect this legendary video game franchise. In development at MLBAM (Major League Baseball Advanced Media), R.B.I. Baseball 14 will launch for current- and next-gen consoles this spring. It's also coming to smartphones and tablets. If you're wondering, MLBAM manages the official websites for the league's 30 teams. As for the game, so far all we've got is a teaser site that doesn't tell us much.

We've no idea if this is supposed to be a simulator or an arcade-style baseball game, but I say it better be the latter. This is R.B.I. Baseball . I don't want it to be an authentic, realistic simulation; I want it to be silly, crazy, over-the-top fun. Am I the only one?
