Ben-DutkaThe New York Comic Con event takes place this week between October 13 and 16, and Square Enix will definitely draw some attention.
Firstly, they've sent over the list of games that attendees will be able to "preview and play" at the Square Enix booths: Final Fantasy XIII-2 , Wakfu , Heroes of Ruin , Dead Island and Deus Ex: Human Revolution .
It's great that attendees will actually be able to get their hands on FFXIII-2, but that's not the only appealing part of Comic Con this week. On Friday, Square Enix will provide an "East Meets West: Art Direction for a Worldwide Audience" presentation, featuring an exclusive panel that will show off concept and finished art from FFXIII-2 and Human Revolution . We're not entirely sure Square Enix has this whole "artistry for a worldwide audience" down pat just yet, but it should be interesting.
Other events include Tomb Raider 's 15th anniversary celebration, where fans can participate in an exclusive signing session with urban contemporary artist Camilla d'Errico. You can pick up a free 5×7 art print and autograph featuring d'Errico's unique interpretation of Tomb Raider . Then there's the FFXIII-2' "Word to Your Moogle" tour (enter to win exclusive prizes), and an overall celebration for the upcoming January 31 launch of FFXIII-2. Not that far off.

I can't help wishing that SE had a real FF game to offer.
I feel the same about Resident Evil.
remember when magic spells were different from each other. animation wasnt that great but it was something. now its just a damn fireball in different colors. thank you twitchers for your input on a franchise you know nothing about and thank you wada for running a company that you also dont know what its all about.

Like they have said many times. If this was called anything other than Final Fantasy it would be a great game. I really did like 13 but I don't consider it a "real" FF game either. I'm not going to pay full price for this. Don't think I'll wait until it's like 20 bucks but 60 is just too much in my opinion. The FF we have all come to love is dead and gone and that's a real shame. Never understood why developers would abandon a system that put them on the map. It's not like there was an out cry saying the mechanics of FF were old and stale. We all liked it just the way it was. 10 was the last "real" one to me but I even liked 12 but the game has changed so much I don't even recognize it anymore. 🙁
they listened to those twitchers who said they wanted to play the game but have no attention span instead of those who carried them up to the top as the worlds go to rpg developer, you know them as their fans.
and thats going to be the day when the final fantasy hardcore fans give up on the franchise altogether. i lost interest on final fantasy when they said they sped up the battle system. i hated the speed of the battle system of 13, you really think i'll like it even faster? also when they added qtes in the combat, its no longer an rpg, its an action game. fans didnt follow 12+ final fantasy games to play an action game. do us a favor square enix, make all the games you want the way you want them but leave a section of your company to create actual final fantasy games.
To be fair, though, limit break's like Zell's, Renzokuken, Tifa's slots, Auron's overdrive, Tidus' overdrive… etc. etc…. those are all pretty QTE'ish.
will be playable at the expo this weekend, really interested to see if $E has listened to any of XIIIs criticism!
