Well, of course it's too early to confirm right now. The team is taking some much-deserved time off.
But with the relative success of Deus Ex: Human Revolution , gamers should be optimistic for the eventual return of the franchise. In speaking to Eurogamer , Eidos Montreal's Marce-Andre Dufort said that although he doesn't know what the future holds, they're currently celebrating a quality production. We weren't the only ones to sing its praises . In response to the question, "would you like to make another Deus Ex," Dufort replied:
"I would like to, but I don’t know what the future is right now. I know that Wada-san [Yoichi Wada, Square Enix president] said he had a plan for the future, but right now we’re celebrating the success of the game, since it’s the first game of the studio."
He added that there were a lot of babies born to employees during the creation of Human Revolution , a testament to the amount of time it took to produce a AAA title. It also proves that a great many people will want to spend time with their new/growing families. But with two million shipped, Square Enix will likely regard the game as a definite success, which means a follow-up effort will show up eventually…right?

I hope I have time to get this game but I've decided I'm not gonna skip Catherine any longer next time I get my backlog cleared up a little.
was a good game whoud like to see a remaster of the older games for players like me that missed them
I'm glad to hear that DE is doing so wel, & I've gotta say congrats to Eidos Montreal on their first game being such a success.
I couldn't get the game on day-1 like I really wanted too, but I'm still happy because I wound up getting the upgraded Augmentation Edition for even cheaper than the regular version, only $49.99
As much as I love this game, please at least don't make it into an annual release. Deus Ex should stay something special with years between each release, like the GTAs.
O, there will be a sequel!
im a little shocked and disappointed how well this has sold though, i mean its been out for over a month now and its only shipped 2M units.
so its sold less then 2M in a month, where DI has sold what was it, 3M in 3 weeks?
its such a popular series, unlike DI which is a new IP.
its such a unique rare style of game, unlike DI which is your typical zombie massacre.
its such a highly praised beloved game, unlike DI which was a mixed bag.
sigh, ill never understand sales!
the crap sells by the millions, and the gold gets thrown into the landfill to rot for the rest of time.
Wada…his mere association makes me cringe a bit. Great game though.
About a month ago or so, I said I thought this game would disappoint. I said it wasn't looking good and that I expected it to fail with fans and reviewers.
-GAWD- I love being wrong about this sort of thing!!!!!
Always great to see successes and new generation IP's get legs in the industry!

Human Revolution is terrific. It has lots of elements that that I love in games; exploration, stealth, personalization through upgrades, problems with multiple solutions. I really hope this same studio makes a sequel.

Yes yes! Please, Eidos. A sequel is most welcome. Of course, you have to develop and release Thief 4 first though. Give us that then I'll welcome a Deus Ex sequel (to a prequel).
I cleared my gaming calendar just for Deux Ex: HR. It's an amazing game and I am glad that the hype lived up to the actual product and then some. I love the different approaches that one can take to each part of the map, and the aug upgrade options and the different weapons gives the player a great sense of freedom. I just love when I finally upgraded to my Icarus landing system and paired it with the typhoon system-giving the drop on enemies is even more fun than playing as Batman.
I would love for them to re-do the original Deus Ex with the new graphics and spruce it up a bit, but if not, I will probably download the original series on Steam and give it a run through after I am done with the game.
While it may not sell as many copies as Dead Island, I am sure it is a much better game than Dead Island. I can only kill so many freaking zombies in a year, and I am already over my quota with every other zombie-killing game already
