Today, Namco Bandai Games America has announced that the next installment in the .hack franchise has gone gold. .hack//G.U. Vol. 2: Reminisce , an action/RPG with plenty of size and depth, is set to release on May 8 for the PS2.
One of the most unique facets of the game is the concept itself: the hero and his friends find themselves trapped inside a popular MMO of their time; the game is called "The World," and somehow, the brave group gets sucked inside and must find a way to escape. The player will be able to customize the character fighting abilities, the mode of transportation will be cool steam bikes, and there will be an all-new mini-game based on playing cards.
As a bonus, the game will also baost the entire unedited first episode of the ".hack//Roots" anime series. Best of all, the episode ties into the actual events that take place during the game, which gives .hack//G.U. Vol. 2: Reminisce a singular appeal.
