Hey, it's for charity, so pay attention. The trio of Activision, Red Bull, and MusiCares have come together with world-famous musicians, designers and celebrities in a bid to raise money for MusiCares, "an organization that was established in 1989 to provide a safety net of critical assistance for music people in times of need."

They're auctioning off specialized Guitar Hero II guitars on eBay, and each participating party has their own style; Tony Hawk slapped a big ol' skateboard on it, for example. Others offering up customized guitars are rock bands My Chemical Romance, Suicide Girls and Nickelback, and individual contributors like "School of Rock" star Jack Black and surfer Kelly Slater.

These auctions will run until April 13, and anyone in the world can place bids on these snazzy guitars, each of which will come with a letter of authenticity. The minimum bid is set at $100, though, so some of these might end up being pretty darn pricey. But if you're a Guitar Hero II fan and you want to rock out in style, perhaps you can kill two birds with one stone: get a one-of-a-kind guitar and donate to a worthwhile charity. Head over to eBay if you're interested.
