All three next-gen consoles may be out, but the PS2 still has one giant trick up its sleeve, and it's called God of War II . Despite being a last-gen title, it's easily one of the most anticipated games of the year, and now, it appears this destined-to-be-awesome sequel may arrive sooner than expected.
According to game director Cory Barlog's blog, a big secret is out: God of War II is almost gold. In a recent entry entitled, "My work here is done," Barlog writes-
"Today is Sunday January 28, and it is safe to say that all of the primary work for God of War 2 has been completed. There are still bugs to be worked out as the game goes through the final bit of Quality Assurance (QA), but for all intents and purposes I am done with everything I can do on the project."
Now, this might just mean the director is done but that QA still needs some time. The release date isn't likely to slip, though, and if anything, it might come out a few days early. However, one of the game's animators replied to the blog post, saying the demo "has been out in QA for a while now and is on target to get finished and pressed in the beginning of February."
Woo-hoo! Bring it on, SCE!
