2K Sports named the cover athletes for its upcoming hockey game, NHL 2K6, today… and in a surprise twist, also announced that Canada and Europe will receive an alternate custom package featuring a different NHL star than will appear on the U.S. cover.
The U.S. release will feature Marty Turco of the Dallas Stars, whereas Mats Sundin of the Toronto Maple Leads will be featured on the European and Canadian releases.
Sundin is especially popular in Europe, as he was a member of the Swedish Olympic hockey team.
