Sure it might teach kids how to pick up hookers and then beat them to get their money back afterwards, but it seems GTA has had at least one positive impact on society.

ABC News has an article that tells the story of Sandy Wilson who was taking care of her three grandsons when a group of men attempted to burglarize her home, pointing a gun at the kids.

The kids were playing Grand Theft when a police scanner message called out "This is the police! You’re surrounded!" Wilson says the burglars heard that message and thought police were outside the door waiting for them.

The thieves panicked and the police arrested the four men. Two of the men have received jail time, one probabtion, and the other is still awaiting trial.
