Has Sega's $20 price point on its 2K5 sports games caught EA Sports' attention?

Speaking today at the BancAmerica Securities Annual Investment Conference, Electronic Arts' CFO Warren Jensen announced the company would launch a 3-for-2 promotion for all EA Sports titles. Beginning next week, when you buy any two EA Sports video games, you'll be able to pick up a third for free.

Jensen also revealed that NBA Live 2005 would go on sale for an MSRP of $39.99, which is a $10 drop from the originally announced price.

Don't fear for EA yet–Jensen mentioned in passing that 2.4 million units of the company's Madden NFL 2005 game have already been sold, "and the $60 PS2 Collector's Edition is virtually sold out."
