Sony finished up its pre-TGS conference today without commenting on a price or release date for the upcoming PSP handheld gaming device. Word on the street is that they plan to reveal this information over the coming days as the show itself gets into full swing.
But one of Sony's executives may have let a valuable tidbit of info slip….
Manfred Gerdes, the Managing Director for Sony's operation in Germany, stated at a press conference today that the company will release the PSP in Japan for a suggested retail price of 33,000 yen (roughly $300 US dollars).
While this has no bearing on what the actual US price will be, it does pretty much kill hopes of Sony retailing the system for $200 or less.
