Good news for folks in the UK who need another PS2, or, by some bizarre twist of fate, don't have one yet…
Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) today announced that, effective immediately, the suggested retail price of the PlayStation 2 game console in the UK will be reduced to £104.99. (That's about $191 in US dollars)
That price may seem odd to those of us in the U.S., where the PS2 retails for $149, but bear in mind, (1) consoles and games tend to cost more in the UK and Europe, and (2) retailers will likely discount that price even further.
Bottom line: cheaper systems sell faster. Sony should get a decent sales boost outta this.
