EA Sports confirmed today what many of us have suspected for weeks (thanks to an EB Games gaffe)–Carmelo Anthony will appear on the cover of NBA Live 2005 in North America.
However, today the company announced that Tony Parker and Pau Gasol will join 'Melo as global spokesman for the upcoming game.
The global spokesman for the game will appear on the packaging for NBA Live 2005 in separate territories with Anthony, a second-year forward for the Denver Nuggets, appearing on all packaging and merchandising for the game in North America and other territories around the world, while Parker (San Antonio Spurs) and Gasol (Memphis Grizzlies) will appear on NBA LIVE 2005 packaging in France and Spain, respectively.
"Making the jump from Syracuse to the NBA, and now from the cover of NCAA March Madness to NBA LIVE, is an incredible honor," said Anthony.
NBA Live 2005 will include several new features including improved gameplay, Freestyle Air, which takes the game above the rim with new dunks and added in-air control, and the inclusion of the all-new NBA All-Star Weekend mode that features the innovative Slam Dunk Contest, the 3 Point Shootout, and more.
NBA Live 2005 will be available this October.
