E3 2007: “Enhanced PSP” Announced For September

The rumors have finally been erased and washed away, and thanks to Sony's press conference today, there is a simple confirmation: a new and revised PSP will arrive in September. While we still don't have all the details, we do expect it to retail for the price of $169.99.

That is the current price of the core PSP, which was another point Sony's Jack Tretton made at the conference: that new low price should appeal to a lot more consumers, and they do have plenty of big plans for the handheld. Some retailers believed they might see a revamped PSP as early as this month, but that is not true, and we have time to get all the information before September. For now, all we know is that it will be "33% lighter and 19% slimmer." Nice!

We will update as soon as more of the details are nailed down; for now, we just wanted to let y'all know that a new PSP is indeed on the way.
