UK Holiday Sales of PS2 and PSP

While we await official NPD numbers for North American sales, sales bits from the other side of the globe have just surfaced; UK numbers in particular. In the Kingdom (Great Britain and Northern Ireland), sales of the PSP have been quite decent throughout 2006. Chart Track estimates a total of 800k PSP units sold in the region alone in 2006. Likewise, sales of the Xbox 360 were decent too, with 740k units sold. The MS numbers are definitely impressive, considering that Europe altogether is known to house the highest amount of PlayStation console owners.

For the holiday season from the start of December until Christmas (just around 3 weeks time), the Nintendo DS moved 250k units. The more expensive PSP still managed an impressive number of 166k systems shifted, and the PS2 left 120k spaces on shelves empty.
