Aaron ThomasCodemasters has announced the return of their classic franchise, Cannon Fodder. The game is being developed for the PSP, and will be released sometime in spring 2007.
In Cannon Fodder, players command their troop of soldiers, individually or as a group, in both on-foot and vehicle based combat missions. The title is all-new and will update the gameplay of the 16-bit originals, combining fast-paced strategic action with the series’ sense of humor that earned it the tagline, “war has never been so much fun.”
New features include the ability to call in air strikes, perform radar sweeps, and there will be new weapons as well, including flamethrowers and sniper rifles. The game will utilize the PSP's WiFi abilities with four-player link play in deathmatch as well as co-op scenarios.
