Though the feature apparently slipped under the radar, the recent firmware upgrade now allows you to place JPG-format album covers right into your mp3 directories. Instead of going through the annoying, if not particularly laborious process of embedding the album art into an mp3 using an external program, this function should make organizing music a lot easier for those who use the PSP as a music player.
