One
of the PSP's coolest features is its ability to play video files off of a memory
stick. Unfortunately, this is one of the most difficult things to figure out how
to do on the system, so many people don't even bother. Sony didn't exactly make
the process pain-free, and unless you have a Media Center PC, it's not exactly
easy to find worthwhile video content, but Neuros
Technology International</a is
hoping to change all that with the upcoming MPEG4 Recorder 2.

About the size of a PDA, the MPEG 4 Recorder 2 will make
capturing and converting video a simple, one step process. All you have to do is
put your memory stick into the Recorder 2, connect the recorder to a Cable box,
DVD player, VCR, DVR, or camcorder via RCA cables and press record – that's
about it. It records in real time, and you can even set it for a timed recording
option. Video for the PSP will be recorded at 30fps in 16×9 format, and you can
even record full VGA (640×480) if you want to watch video on your television.

In addition to recording video, the Recorder 2 has a number
of video and music playback capabilities. When hooked up to your TV, the
Recorder can play DivX, AVI, ASF video files, and even display JPEGS. If you
just want to listen to some music, supported file types include, MP3, WMA, and
AAC.

The MPEG 4 Recorder 2 is due out this November, and will be
available in a number of as-yet to be determined online retailers, and the MSRP for the unit will be $149.99. We'll have more information on this promising
product soon, and we'll hopefully be able to get some time with the unit to let
you know if it's worth your hard earned money. A complete list of technical
