If you're looking for old-school RPGs, you had best own a PSP.
Sony's portable has plenty of traditional role-playing games, many of which are JRPGs that have loyal followings. Take the Persona series, for example; it's basically a spin-off of the critically acclaimed Shin Megami Tensei franchise.
Atlus has finally confirmed that Persona 2: Innocent Sin will enter North American stores on September 20. If you pre-order it from GameStop or Amazon, you'll get a free 10-track CD featuring original, remixed and arranged songs from composer Shoji Meguro. He also worked on Persona 3 and Persona 4 , as well as the recently released Catherine .
You know, games like this are starting to disappear. They may hang on for a while longer in the handheld and digital worlds but big-budget traditional JRPGs seem to be fizzling out. Therefore, if you still have a taste for this dying gameplay, make sure to take advantage while you still can!

I've known for over 2 months. is this just a reminder?
Something about the visual presentation of the early Persona titles (1 and 2)doesn't grab me. Bring on Persona 5 as soon as humanly possible!
Persona 3 and 4 kinda blow story wise. at least in the first 2 it was better because they summoned properly, everyone could use more then one persona. it was wonderful. and the music direction, just divine.
Personally, (pun intended) I'm most looking forward to the remake of Persona 4 on Vita!!
I don't have time to play a fully fledged 100 hour RPG on consoles anymore, so a handheld title like this would work even better for me!!
I tend to spend more time playing portable games like 3DS or PSP in my spare time. Console gaming is more for multiplayer with friends or the occassional weeknight single player marathon!

Same here. I was very excited when I learned that Persona 4 is going to be ported with enhancements on the PS Vita. The Vita is already a definite buy for me, but this news just sweetens the cake!
I did not get to finish P4 on the PS2 so this is the perfect opportunity for me to get back to it. I love P3 and P4's battle system and I hope to see it return on the Vita.
With that said, I really have to thank Atlus and NISA for localizing awesome games like this! And I'd let my wallet do the talking.
Ya know Persona 4 will be just as long on Vita.
No worries World. The length was not the issue. I didn't get to finish it on the PS2 because my brother started playing FFX on it for the nth time. As for me, work became very busy to do anything else (which is why I left the said job and moved). It shouldn't be a problem this time. LOL
World,
I spend more time on handhelds cos its just so easy to switch on and go. (especially when its only in sleep mode) Also, I love gaming in bed for half an hour before sleeping, along with other times of the day.
Handheld is just more convenient to me.
I just committed a sin on an innocent.
But don't worry I just stole a lollipop from a baby.
In other news I'm looking forward to this as I started playing the Persona series at part 3.
soooooo, any chance this will appear for download on the PSN?
still pissed $E refuses to release BBS on there i mean come on its gotta be the best game released for the PSP!
and it may be a bit to big. but dissidia was there after some time. can you message SE to ask?
no such thing as too big, if full sized ps3 games can get on there theres no reason BBS cant!
ive sent them tons of emails asking if BBS would appear on there and they have always said we dont know.
well psp wise. i agree it should fit on the psn fine but the download time for mobile users can be problematic, as well as the size on the memory cards. it can be put on there but idk if it may have to be compressed for download and then installed to full size. that's close to 3GB if not. if you have a psp go however you may need a CFW to enjoy it. they do have temp ones however, and if you still want to buy it when it does hit the psn you still can. SE is sooooo indecisive these days.
already got one had one for a while now mainly so i can play all my ps1 games on it.
only reason why i got a psp.
I played a bit of Persona 3 on the PSP and was very dissapointed due to the lack of a character to control around areas, you just controlled a point and clicked on people to interact. Does this PSP release suffer from the same problem.
But, more importantly, is there any news on a European relase on Catherine? I have seen that now both 360 & PS3 versions are listed on Amazon, but no date.
Can't be spending time playing rpgs on the psp. It's just not what I want. Bring on PS3 Personas.
I am a huge shin megami tensei fan. I can't wait until Persona 5 is released and atlus reveals more information on the game. Catherine was defintely a great game and I think is the second or third best game released so far. I would like to see some new fusion mechanics, more exploring, and mid-level save points. It seems that this fan site http://shinmegamitensei.net is the only place for finding news on Persona 5. I think Persona 5 is going to put shin megami tensei on the map in North America. It's a popular game, but a game that is not talked about much and it deserves so much more than that.
