Well, it's cool for European gamers, at least.
Today, during Sony's GamesCom 2011 press conference, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe president and CEO Jim Ryan revealed a nifty new option for handheld gaming fans:
It's a brand new PSP , which will be priced at a very reasonable €99 ($143). The only downside is that this cheaper model will not boast Wi-Fi capability like other PSP entries. There will also be a slight cosmetic change – as you can see by the picture – but other than that, it's basically the PSP we all know and love. SCEA confirmed to GameSpot that US gamers won't be seeing this new PSP model, although he didn't give any details or explanation. Well, we can all wait for the Vita, which should launch some time early next year.
If you don't have a PSP yet, you really should consider a purchase. It has quite the solid library, especially if you're looking for experiences you really can't find on consoles.
