Many will remember the shower scene in Parasite Eve II and given Aya's history (and body), fans of the series were hoping for something similar in The 3rd Birthday .
Well, they got it: another shower scene. In speaking with Famitsu, producer Yoshinori Kitase finally decided to toss one in, which actually resulted in a change in rating for the game. Still, Kitase said he realized how important Aya's physical appeal was and adds that the scene in question "is really suggestive." For a peek at it, head over to Siliconera to view the assortment pic. It's a little borderline for us; a couple shots in there could be considered "topless" by the conservatively anal. It's a little funny that director Hajime Tabata apologized to the marketing staff for the rating hike but there's no going back now. The game is out in Japan and we're patiently awaiting news of a North American launch. This, combined with the feature that causes Aya's clothes to tear when she takes damage, has certainly gained plenty of attention from gamers worldwide.
And now, the wait for a full YouTube video of the shower scene in The 3rd Birthday begins. Probably won't take long.
I sound like a broken record here, but I want this game (or one similar) on the PS3.
It's SE, so there's no chance of that.
Pointless. Seems they are just trying to recycle old ideas at this point.
Were the Parasite Eve franchise/games even any good?
The first game was amazing. One of my favorite RPG's to date. The second was just ok.
I'm gonna agree with Jawk. The first one was one of the best RPG's on the PS1 (As if it doesn't already have an incredible number of them!)
The second one changed into more of a horror genre game. It was actually pretty good, but definitely a downgrade from the first. If it didn't have the first one in it's shadow it might have been considered better.
Sounds like they're making the shower scene Aya's trademark.
And that's cool with me.
I was reading that article too fast. I saw the words "topless" and "anal" in the same sentence and had to go back and re-read it so I didn't interpret it wrong….oops..
But yeah I'm looking forward to this game for sure, with or without an anal topless shower scene…lol
I found the words conservative and anal to be in conflict 🙂
what is it with the goddamn japs and glorifying womens bodies? thats one part of jap games i will never understand. young, flawless skin, big goo-goo eyes, generous sizes bosoms, and scant cloths. why?
i liked heavy rains take. revealing, yet somehow subtle.
Aya's relatively petit.
Yes because Japanese culture is the ONLY culture that glorifies or objectifies the woman body.

You got a problem with women's bodies?
I thought Heavy Rain's portrayal of women rather exaggerated in a different kind of way.
Oh, and stark naked is a little more than "revealing."
@worldendswithme
me? course not.
the japs just overdo it to the point of being perverted.
anime, video games, movies. you name it.

Yes! Like ranchi sex in GoW, shower scenes are a must for Aya. Crappy PSP graphics be damned, gamers know what they want.
At least you can count on the shower cut scene being top notch from Square. 😉
I'm buyin this, not for that, but it's a nice bonus. I need to expand my PSP library.
I have PE1 but I never played the second one, sounds like I can skip it with a clean conscience though.
nice! 🙂
I know a lot of people would rather see this on a mother console, but I'm one of the few that don't. There are a lot of other AAA PSP games could fit into this category.
With out big name installments of major franchises what would be the point of owning a PSP. All the tiny no name (yet still enjoyable) games wouldn't be enough to be a system seller.
I like it when developers choose to put there next big chapter of a major series on the PSP, b/c it gives me something to look forward to when I'm not around my PS3. Which is more often than not.
