Hideo Kojima has called Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker for the PSP a true entry in the fabled series; it would even make sense to call it "Metal Gear Solid V."
This is why he's more closely involved in the development of this title rather than the upcoming Metal Gear Solid: Rising for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, which is being handled by a younger team. And this is why we're always intrigued by new details on Peace Walker and the latest batch comes courtesy of NowGamer , where we learn about a few new potentially innovative features. Firstly, players will have the Mother Base offshore plant "as a hub for items and personnel collected within the game," and you'll even be able to recruit fallen foes and take them back to this base. The more ex-bad guys you're able to convert, the more new features you'll unlock. How cool is that ? You'll also spend your time at the Mother Base upgrading your weaponry and selecting your armor, and you'll even select new "AI weapons." Said a Konami rep:
"Each AI Weapon can talk and even sing during battle using VOCALOID technology, hinting at a surprising level of intelligence and a deeper role in the game’s intricate plot."
Lastly, the game will boast four-player co-op missions and a three-on-three battle royale for extra multiplayer fun. Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker really is shaping up to be one of the most impressive handheld projects we've ever seen, which is why some die-hard fans are more interested in this than in Rising . We wanna see both, of course, but we're very excited to see what Kojima and Co. can do when they want to make the most out of the PSP hardware…
