We waited plenty long enough for Dissidia: Final Fantasy but Square-Enix fans are hoping the wait won't be quite so lengthy for Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep .

The biggest problem for North American and European gamers has been that this promising action/RPG hasn't even received an official Japanese launch date. Without that, it's tough to estimate when it might finally sit on store shelves in other regions. However, according to KingdomHeartsUnion citing a Japanese website as the source, Birth by Sleep is now slated to arrive in Japan on January 9, 2010. If this is true, we can start thinking about a US launch date; perhaps it'll arrive within only three months, even though we had to wait more than eight months for the aforementioned Dissidia . Square-Enix has said before that they'd like to shorten the localization process for their games, which is also why RPG followers are hoping Final Fantasy XIII makes it over here before the projected June date in GameStop's database. If it releases in Japan in mid-December and Square-Enix has said they'd like the localization to take only three months (if that's even possible), might we see it as early as March? Hence, if Kingdom Hearts is out on the 9th, we'd want an early spring US release, right? Well, here's hoping.

We're also hoping for this acclaimed and popular series to come to the PlayStation 3 at some point. But so far, the rumors are just that…rumors.

I can't wait =D and if it comes down to it you can always just import the game since PSP games aren't region locked either.

By the time they release this game I might not buy it. Squarenix is getting to dissapoint me alot. If it wasn't for FF and Kingdom Hearts I would probably never buy any game from them.

Actually what I'm wondering is how different is 365/2 days days is compared to this. Is it the same story on diff portable platforms, or diff games entirely, and how much do both tie into the main story…hm

358/2 Days is more like KH1 with the difficulty in combat, so I've heard.
Both games (KH: BBS & 358/2) will feel completely different but will have the same foundations.

They're different games entirely. 358/2 is detailing the story of Roxas and Organization 13. Around the time frame of KH2.

And I'm guessing BBS is kind of about the Keyblade masters from ages ago ūüėČ

I've seen that date on other sites too, so it looks for real.

I'm also hearing there is a KH3 preview at the end of BBS.

We'll see.
