Oh, come ON. Does Sony really think that only the Japanese like pretty colors?
For whatever reason, the invisible yet still irritating Color Police continue to make North America off-limits to the influx of freshly-hued hardware. According to The Gamer Limit , Sony has announced that the "Carnival Colors" for the PSP are heading to Japan. Here they come in "Radiant Red," "Vibrant Blue," "Bright Yellow," and "Spirited Green." Furthermore, each fun-colored PSP will get its own accessory bundle pack, which will feature a pouch, wrist strap and 4GB memory stick, all of which will be of the same color as the PSP. They'll be available in the Land of the Rising Sun soon, but don't count on them arriving in the U.S. or Europe; we're the boring regions that only want black and white. Every once in a while, a special bundle will give us the chance to nab a Limited Edition, specially designed PSP, but our standard hardware choices aren't very diverse. And that goes for everyone; Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo. What's the deal? Wouldn't you like the option of these Carnival Colors?
Despite the fact that 2008 was the PSP's best year yet, the handheld could use a little help. We would prefer the assistance to come in the form of great software, but some simple cosmetic choices would be appreciated, too.
I'm getting the green one, it's soooooo beautiful
like this is anythign new. japan always gets color options on EVERYTHING
yeah. the thing i want the most though is a gun metal ps3.
They dont know this could help boost sales alot man…..God im jealous lol
I'm with nighthawk, i'm importing the green one. My old phat is showing his age, time to put him out to pasture.
Send it to me I could use it for my Pandoras lol
its already been cracked for a while, it's just starting to get a little buggy here and there…
Man all of those honestly look great =O Even the yellow, if we import will they still work on US games? or does it matter?
yea if you import it'll still work psp's are region free, when you start it up just select the region your from and it'll adapt to it
I'd love to have the blue one.
There to bright & colorful for me lol, but wonder how much of an impact does doing things like this have on sale.
a fair amount. a simple redisgn for the psp made sony a huge sales boost especially in japan. even the 3000 with it's crap screen.
LSD for PSP.
@World,
<<<<LSD for PSP>>>> LOL
So you gonna be getting an "Orange Wedge" or "Blue Cheer" Model?
Myself, I might wait for the much more powerfull STP "Orange Barrel" model. LOL
haha, I'm keepin my mouth shut on that point my man.
I use a Japanese imported Crisis Core PSP so yea for anyone wondering it definitely works. The only thing is that menus have the X and O button swapped. However, american games have their own button configs, so when your in game the buttons are correct.
that is because the Japanese understand that x means no and o mean ok.
Is it wrong to want one of these just because of the pretty colors?
I mean, I don't even want a PSP…
that's exactly how i feel. i want all four just for display. and then a silver one to play on. so when my eyes hurt i can look up. and see the pretty colours
I want that yellow one
Blue for me.
red. or blue. or green. green probably. and is it me or is john a new guy, if so, hi john.
im getting the blue one
its my favorite color
The blue one is ok but for my money id take the yellow – very ferrari. The others are either not deep enough, not vibrant enough or too vibrant. I like my reds straight or dark, and my greens bright and exotic.
GO YELLOW!
The guys @ Sony don't have any brains when it comes to ideas like this. The Playstation franchise is already so popular in Japan that they are really wastin' time trying to get more brownie points over there.
M$ and Nintendo are leading in America so why won't Sony try more to win the hearts of Americans instead of trying to get more fame in Japan?!
The Blue PSP should be more cobalt like the "Blue PS3 Give-away" advertisement above. The Green PSP should be lime green instead. Why don't they have an orange one too?
