Dissidia: Final Fantasy releases today in Japan, but as is typically the case with Square-Enix titles, it takes them a while to break the boundary of the Land of the Rising Sun. And as RPG fans well know, some of those games never leave…
In the case of this particular title, it's a good-news, bad-news situation: the good news is that Square-Enix has officially confirmed that Dissidia will indeed be headed to both North America and Europe. The bad news is that the wait seems exorbitantly long, even for Square-Enix. Thanks to a recent press release – which has been plastered all over the Internet this morning – the publisher said that American PSP owners can expect this promising title by "mid-year 2009," which may come as a disappointment. Don't be too upset, though; our friends across the pond have to wait even longer. Dissidia may not release in Europe until September or October, which means you may as well turn your attention to other titles for a while. We're just hoping Square-Enix doesn't do this with Final Fantasy XIII …we have to wait long enough for that one in the first place; if you screw over Europe once again, you're going to have a whole lot of pissed-off gamers on your hands. Dissidia is supposed to be damn good, too.
Feel free to peruse the PSP Videos section for several trailers of the highly anticipated title, but they may only frustrate you. Why can't this translation process happen faster ?
