Capcom has announced that it will bring its popular Monster Hunter MORPG (multiplayer online role-playing game) to the PSP.

Monster Hunter Portable, as the game is currently being called, will be based on the recently released PS2 game Monster Hunter G. This time around, players will be able to capture and raise their own creatures to use in battle. The general design of the game won't change much from its PS2 cousins. Players will still spend most of their time slaying creatures and collecting loot to put toward new outfits and weapons.

The announcement mentions that some form of multiplayer play will be built-in to the PSP game, but whether this will be limited to ad hoc play or include true online play is unknown at this time.
