With the approach of No Man’s Sky Beyond coming up very quickly, we’re starting to get some new information on the latest update. Last week Hello Games hopped on their blog to announce the release date as well as touch on the VR aspect of the update. Earlier today they once again teased us with a little more info. Their latest trailer shows some more of the multiplayer aspects. Wait… Did I just see someone riding on a mount? Why yes. Yes I did.
The focus on Beyond is to give the players the ability to share what you have worked so hard to accomplish. Sean Murray also jumped on the PlayStation Blog to give us a little tidbit on the purpose of The Nexus.
Suddenly your ship that you spent 50 hours earning can now be seen by others in the Nexus. Your rare spacesuit and unique helmet can be shown off to other players. Friends and strangers can visit that massive base you’ve been working on.
Progression in No Man’s Sky is so much more meaningful when you can share it with other explorers and so much more engaging when any creations or missions become shareable. Once you meet fellow travellers who knows what space-faring adventures you will go on together.
As you can see at the end of the video, we get just a small glimpse of The Nexus. This will be a brand new area that serves as a hub to meet, share, and play with other people online. And don’t forget that you’ll be able to play the game entirely in PSVR as well.
No Man’s Sky Beyond is set to release on August 14th.
What do you think of The Nexus? Did you notice anything in the trailer you liked?
Definitely looks interesting, it has been quite awhile since i’ve played and i might just have to dust it off.
