Just yesterday, it was reported that the dev behind the NFT battle royale shooter, Off the Grid, had delayed payments and laid off those who wanted answers around where their money is. While he didn’t respond to the bigger allegations, he did respond to the pay delay allegations brought forward by an ex-contractor who hadn’t been paid for months.

Taking to social media, Gunzilla Games CEO Vlad Korolev called all the negative press “FUD to farm a few views.” He asserted that they are just optimizing costs the same way any other gaming, crypto, and tech company is right now. He also confirmed that yes, some payments were “scheduled in a way that works for the company’s cash flow.”

He did confirm that following the post on LinkedIn, the loudest voice in this instance, Anna Savina, was repaid. While we’d love to say this was the plan all along, we just have to wait and see if other contractors come forward to confirm their situation was rectified.
