GameStop Demands Gamer Pay To Sell PS4 Pro

GameStop supposedly demanded a gamer pay them so he could sell his PS4 Pro. Hoping to get $70, the gamer obviously didn’t take the “deal.”

Basically, ResetEra user SolmisateSol (spotted by MP1st), went to their GameStop to sell their last-gen console, though, they kept a couple of things, such as the DualShock 4 and HDMI cable. Also, since they weren’t a Pro member, that also led to a reduced rate. Said reduced rate went into the negative, with them owing GameStop $5 to take it off their hands.

Now, they left with the console in hand as having to pay to offload old consoles is ridiculous. We frankly hope this isn’t real, but regardless, it would track with the way GameStop is headed.

What do you think? Is it wild to owe when trying to sell consoles? Let us know below!

How is that possible? You sell them your item at reduced cost. Pro’s get or money sure. So let’s say Pro gets $100. He’d get say $72. That’s how a company buying your old tuff works. There’s no way to get a reduced price into the negatives. Even if they deduct dollars for no controller/cable (and when I sold my Wii without wiimote/nunchuck, they refused to buy it til I went back home and got it for them, even though adding a combo they sell separately would have only lost them 4 and tax, so I don’t see it happening), it’d still net maybe $50 using my example. There’s zero ways to get a buying price of less than $0. Any set price would have a reasonable extra reduction for lack of parts. Now ay they’d go It’s $72 set price for on Pro but if it’s lacking parts, we need to take off an extra $5. and they employee would just go, no sorry, that’d somehow put you in the red, and you’d actually owe us money, don’t do it. While the powers that be might suck, I always found the workers rather friendly, if not always on the ball. I used my Wii money to get 1/3 off The Last Of Us preorder, and the worker mistakenly thought the game was available. Even his boss was trying not to laugh at that one as he helped him correct is mistake. Heck, at first the guy told me to wait while he checked to see if were any new promotions on buying consoles for the coming week (it was a Sat), because he’d give it to me early.
