Game Pass subscriptions are seeing a price reduction effective immediately following Microsoft’s decision to no longer release Call of Duty games on the service Day 1.

Shared on Xbox Wire, the price for Ultimate will drop to $22.99, down from its $29.99 price tag while the cheaper PC tier will be $13.99, down from $16.49. This pivot shouldn’t surprise anyone, as previous reports indicated they planned to no longer launch COD as part of Game Pass Day 1.

The decision doesn’t change the current COD games on the service. They also assert this is only really affecting Activision’s shooter series and other major releases will still get that Day 1 treatment. They will still end up on the service, but subscribers will have to wait about a year before each entry hits the service.
