NetEase has revealed the new console release date for its slick-looking shooter, Fragpunk. The free-to-play shooter was initially set to launch simultaneously with the PC launch on March 6, but due to “last minute unexpected technical challenges,” the console release was delayed while the PC version rolled out.
Now the console kinks seem to have been ironed out, and the shooter will drop close to the month’s end on April 29.
The game’s initial reception was fairly positive, gaining an average Metacritic score of 76, with many reviews praising the game’s style, shard card system and fast-paced shooting gameplay loop. We’re glad the game’s delay wasn’t too long and that we get to hop into Fragpunk’s frantic action sooner rather than later.
Are you excited for Fragpunk’s upcoming launch? Do you think you’ll give the free-to-play shooter a go come launch? Or do you think Fragpunk is yet another free-to-play shooter destined for the scrapheap? Let us know in the comments below.
I’ll be the first to say FrackPunk is all that and a bag of chips. I have it on PC and will download on console as soon as it comes out.
Ah, that’s fantastic to hear, I’m really eager to get my hands on it soon for PlayStation
