We're seeing a lot of old classics get the high-definition treatment. And I ain't complaining.

There's the recently released DuckTales Remastered , and you'll soon see Castle of Illusion HD . And these are only the most recent examples. So, what's next on the list? What classic title do you want to see redone?

Personally, I want a high-def iteration of Mutant League Football , one of the most entertaining and under-appreciated video games of all time. If they do an update, they really need to add some gore, too; you know, a bit of blood and guts whenever one of the players bites the dust. And maybe they could toss in a few more interesting booby traps on the field; remember accidentally discovering land mines and stuff like that? It was just so much fun and the fact that it played a little like Madden sold it for me. I played the hell out of that game!

I also want to see a true HD remake of Rygar . I know they did a new version ( Rygar: The Legendary Adventure ) back in the early PS2 days, but I want a high-def overhaul of the original 2D side-scroller. That game was one of the first that actually made me love side-scrollers; it had such great style. Come to think of it, I also want a remake of Earl Weaver's Baseball ; I remember playing entire seasons on my old IBM/Tandy. The computer could barely run it, but that was half the fun! I totally mastered that game, too, and I'd love to see it return. Might be too old, though.

What's on your remake list?

I wholeheartedly support the idea of a new Mutant League Football, but I'd also love a next gen Streets of Rage.

I'd love to see the NES Ninja Gaidens receive HD treatment. But it'd be important that it remained sprite based 2D and not 3D. I really didn't warm up to the PSP Megaman X remake that replaced the sprite-based play with 3D graphics. It felt off.

Other games would be Contra 1 through 3 and Life Force.
Super Double Dragon would be great as well. I'd like to see the original creators finish the title as they wanted. I read that the game wasn't as long as they wanted due to time constraints. Unfortunate too, because it's combat system rocked.
I'd also like to see Toe Jam and Earl completely overhauled.

Oh, while it's newer it's still like early 32-bit era. I'd like Suikoden to receive Final Fantasy IV Complete Edition style treatment as well. That game could really benefit from more art assets.

Didn't DD Neon have 3D models though?

Yah, DD Neon was good.
I was really just referring to the NES Gaidens for that. But to be more clear, the problem Megaman X PSP had was that there was way too much perspective ground distortion as you moved. Being a shooter-platformer it really bugged me that the platforms you were trying to jump to exhibited so much perspective shifting while scrolling through the level.
If a dev could pull it off right (I think the Bionic Commando Rearmed guys did well with the perspective distortion) I would be fine with that. It's just by knowing beforehand if it was sprite based it wouldnt be a concern at all.

Loved those Gaidens but I'm not quick enough to play them anymore, they'd need a dummy mode for me.

Theres a lot to list but when I first got my PS1 I got a game called Beyond the Beyond with it. Even though I wasn't in to RPG's at that age, I still sort of enjoyed it. Id like to see a game like that come back with a remake. Doesnt necessarily have to be that one but maybe a game that wasn't recieved to highly but has a fan following.

I swear if anyone mentions Final fantasy VII…

I am hoping Castle of Illusion will be a success, because I want World of Illusion next. It was more imaginative and had such a wonderful atmosphere. But it also had Co-op, something these classic remakes have yet to tackle and co-op Platformers is something we're in dire need this generation.

I am still hoping for the 3DS versions of Final Fantasy V & VI. As soon as they make them I will invest in the console The iOS version of FFV looked awful, like a modern flash game. The PSP versions of 1,2 & 4 kept the 16-bit look, but added much more detail to the sprites..

Earthbound. Magic of Scheherazade. Astyanax. Werewolf. Batman Returns. Altered Beast. Twin Cobra. Operation Wolf. Guerrilla War. Monster Party. The Original Spy Hunder & Metal gear 1 & 2. That would be a good start.

you seriously believe a HD collection would hurt the sales of V?

Spy vs Spy. I loved that game, yet could never work out how to play it (work that one out!). That would be proper awesome, as long as they stuck to the concept of K.I.S.S.

I'm still waiting for the Dreamcast store to update with HD Skies of Arcadia. But if we're going in the way back machine I'd say let's do the first 3 Castlevanias.

The fact that an article of remakes has far more comments that for example the ones related with the launch of the PS4 worries me :S

Yeah, but the PS4 thing was expected. Look at the Comments for articles when the PS4 was first announced. ūüôā

Ok, good point. But still, I think the overhype is calming, and if I remember correctly, in FFX when the calm arrived, it was just a matter of time before SIN (in this case MS)came to f**k things up. Maybe tomorrow in gamescom, the hype will rise again!

A Siren 1 & 2 (Siren 2 which North America never got) along with a Shadow Hearts (including Koudelka) collection would suffice for me.

Y'know, I'll have to say NONE.

Mainly because, any game in the older style that I loved, I would prefer to see a NEW game in that style, rather than an HD remake of the old one.

Like, I really like COntra III for SNES. BUt I really wouldn't care to see that in HD. The original version is perfectly fine a is. Give me a NEW Contra in that style, and I'll be good. Contra 4 was a good try, but was marred by the gap in the middle of the two screens hiding bullets and unforgivably terrible default gun, which made an already hard game much harder than it should have been. And Contra Rebirth on Wii was also a good attempt, but a little too small scale (or just not enough weapons, WTF!)

Though I suppose if I were to pick one, I wouldn't go back to the 8 bit or 16 bit days which would require a complete overhaul (in which case, just make a damn new game). I would pick Gradius V. That was like the perfect end to Gradius, and I wouldn't mind seeing it return on some newer hardware (Vita port, please?)
