Days Gone Lead Bemoans Bend Studio’s Exclusion From 30th Anniversary Video

To celebrate 30 years of PlayStation, the Japanese game maker put out a “thank you” video to fans and the massive developers that produced hard-hitting games for the console family. Bend Studio was noticeably absent from the video, though.

Controversial Days Gone director, John Garvin, has since gone to Twitter to bemoan the studio’s exclusion. Now, while it seems weird to omit the studio, especially as it seems to have something cooking, it’s not like this video was fully committed to first-party fare. Instead, it was largely a video full of games associated with PlayStation but not quite entirely first-party.

Bloodborne was part of this video, and while Sony owns the rights to Bloodborne itself, it was FromSoft that developed it. Kojima Productions’ Death Standing also stands out as while it was financially aided by PlayStation, it was Kojima’s baby.

Really, this just feels like Garvin once again looking to stir the pot after the Japanese giant rejected Days Gone 2 over mixed reception. Sony was selecting from 30 years of gaming and choosing the well-established, iconic game series.

Most recently, he was spotted blasting Sony for having Deacon as a cameo in Astro Bot. Previously, he’s blasted fans for not buying the game at full price.
