P.T. Patch Doesn’t Make it Unplayable

Around Halloween, a seemingly cruel trick had been played on a number of PS4 owners with access to P.T. Posted on r/SilentHill by PopulusTrichocarpa, the rumor claimed that the recent patch left users unable to play the game. This had many gamers scared and clambering to their consoles to – hopefully – double check this rumor.

A quick look into any PS4 with P.T. already installed revealed that this was no more than a hoax. It really only served as a hot minute worry to P.T. fans. That being said, it didn’t stop Konami from officially declaring that this was a hoax.

A Konami representative sent IGN a statement:

After our investigation we can confirm that there have been no Konami or PlayStation Network(PSN) update that would have affected or prevent access to the game.

Even though Konami acknowledged the existence of the game, that doesn’t mean it’s coming back. So, if you deleted the game for one reason or another, it’s gone forever. P.T. has been off of the PlayStation Store since 2015 after the notable separation of Konami and Kojima. That action sadly sealed the fate of what P.T. (Playable Teaser) represented: Silent Hills.

What was your perspective of this? How did you react when hearing the rumor?
