PSXE readers have never "overridden" anything, Beamboom.

Arnold wanted to do the Uncharted 3 review so he did. That's that.

Not the readers, Ben. The owners, or whoever makes the top decisions on this site. Those who hired you, or something.

I just remember you on several occasions said you were going to review Uncharted 3, then a few days before release you published an article where you questioned "does any game ever deserve a full ten" and pretty much concluded that you were unsure. And then, all of a sudden Arnold pops up out of nowhere, hands out a blank tenner to U3, and disappears again.

All I can say is that it looked suspicious for an outsider.

All right.

But I make all the content decisions. Arnold is a co-founder of the site so he can do what he wants, as far as I'm concerned.

... And so he obviously did. But the question remains, "why"? That's one for the conspiracists.

@ Norrin the purpose of a review is to provide insight on a game not give what some would possibly view as major plot details. Although Ben is somewhat correct that he didn't fully spoil anything he did somewhat.

I suppose that's true to some extent. But just bear in mind that there's a LOT to this story, and even if you did know what happened at the beginning, that doesn't really spoil the main plot. It just gives you a better idea of the main character.

Gotcha. Thanks for the insight.

"Damnit, you told me he died!"
"No I didn't."

This is easily the highest review I've seen on here. Ben, has there ever been a perfect 10? If not, do you think you could ever even give one?

I'm guessing Metal Gear Solid 4.

It's actually not the highest score at all. MGS4 and Uncharted 3 have perfect 10s, GTAIV and GT5 have 9.9s, and Uncharted 2 and God of War III have 9.8s.

However, I will add that all those (with the exception of GTAIV) were from Arnold. I've never given a 10, although had I done the Uncharted 2 review, that might've gotten one...

I'm very hard-pressed to hand out scores above 9.5. In fact, I've only done that four times this entire generation (GTAIV, GoWIII, Skyrim and Bioshock Infinite), although there would've been a few more if I had reviewed Uncharted 2, GT5 and maybe Killzone 2.

9.5s I've given have gone to Heavy Rain, LittleBigPlanet 2, Batman: Arkham City, Journey, Resistance 2, ICO & The Shadow of the Colossus Collection, Dishonored and Assassin's Creed III.

Uncharted 2 is definitely a 10. It's better than Uncharted 3.

@Ben

Of all those review scores listed the the only one I'd disagree with would be ACIII. And that's just because I didn't think it was all that (again - just MY opinion - which really counts for nothing in the grand scheme!). All the others I think you're dead on. Which I think says a lot about why I choose to use this site's reviews in my buying decisions. And for that I am grateful. Thank you.

@ Troy

I think you are correct about the Uncharteds . I can't say for certain (as I am only now getting to UC3 - chapter 14), but 3 has not really gripped me the way 2 did - maybe that will change as I go forward. But to me - there is just something magical about UC2. When I got 1/3 of the way into that game - I could not stop playing it until it was finished. My wife was not happy with me for 2 days straight - but it was worth it! In my top 3 this gen with BL2 and Arkham City (I know they're not Exclusives - but I loved them nonetheless!).
