With March behind us and April moving forward, what’s this month have in store for us PlayStation gamers?
Koira, April 1
Don’t Nod is out once again offering up a heartwarming, puzzle-laden tale in Koira. Waking up far from home, you rescue a puppy and must keep it safe as you traverse a musical forest. It has a slight twinge of Journey to it and definitely looks worth a shot.
Croc: The Legend Of The Gobbos, April 2
If you’re looking to get that nostalgia factor amped to 11, Croc: The Legend of the Gobbos is back. After nearly two decades of closure, Argonaut Software returned in 2024, announcing that it’s bringing Croc back from the dead. Rescue the Gobbos from the evil Barone Dante and enjoy the enhanced graphics and modern control scheme added to this classic 90s gem on April 2.
Promise Mascot Agency, April 10
April 10 will mark the release of Promise Mascot Agency, a bizarre RPG putting you in the shoes of an ex-Yakuza member exiled to a cursed town to turn a failed mascot agency into a profitable venture. Frankly, the game looks weird, wacky, funny, and fun all the same time, so sign me up.
Finding Frankie, April 15
After releasing in October 2024 to PC, SuperLou’s indie parkour horror, Finding Frankie, is heading to PS5 on April 15. Take part in a twisted game show with the chance to win a massive cash prize at the end. Run, jump, and swing your across the labyrinthian play place but be aware something is out to get you.
Indiana Jones And The Great Circle, April 17
Good things come to those who wait and I think it’s fair to say as the award-winning Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is right around the corner, slated for April 17. Originally an Xbox-exclusive, this MachineGames adventure puts you into the first-person shoes of Indiana Jones packaged with a brand-new adventure. You get to solve puzzles, fight baddies, and piece together mysteries all while feeling like you are Indy.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, April 24
Developed by Sandfall Interactive, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is a unique specimen as not only is it the first project of a new studio, but it looks phenomenal. The only thing that makes me wary is the combat. I am not personally a fan of turn-based combat, but it’s certainly not a dealbreaker. Expedition 33 comes out on April 24.
Days Gone Remastered, April 25
Finally, it has to be said, Days Gone is coming back on April 25, but not as a sequel, no, as a remaster packaged with improved lighting, VRR support, improved framerates, and better resolution alongside PS5 Pro enhancements. Now, it does have a $10 upgrade path for existing owners, but it is not applicable for those who got it through PlayStation Plus.
