Which Do You Want More: Uncharted 4 Or TLoU 2?

Naughty Dog delivered two stellar IPs this generation. But the question now is: Which do you want to see more on the fancy new PlayStation 4?

If the games are taking turns, Uncharted 4 is next up for the talented developer. And I really can't think of a PS4 exclusive I want more at this point. Then again, The Last Of Us was so mind-bogglingly good that it's difficult to make a definitive choice.

But let's not forget that if Naughty Dog does another story in the TLoU universe, the game might not be called "The Last Of Us 2." They seem a little reluctant to produce a true sequel because they say the Joel and Ellie storyline is complete. That doesn't mean they can't do another adventure in the same universe, but it does indicate that they be unsure of exactly how to proceed. And that's just fine with me; I'm in no hurry. Greatness should never be rushed. Besides, I think Uncharted 4 is the game with better system-selling potential, and that's critical for a new piece of hardware. Uncharted 4 for holiday 2014? Huge.

I can just imagine what Naughty Dog can and will do with the PS4… They blew us all away time and time again over the past six years, and I can't wait to see what they do next.

I want Uncharted 4. Mainly because to me there is no better production. But the main reason, is the same you explained in your article. TLoU had an amazing story but Joel and Ellie being done has me less excited and more curious on what they would do next.

Their story might be done but the world they live in is still the same. No cure was made.

I thought Uncharted 2 had a much more original story than TLoU.

And while thats true are you suggesting to play as a diffrrent character looking for a cure? Essentially the same story?

World- I actually agree.

Not looking for a cure necessarily. I thought the whole survival part of the game was great fun.

And besides if someone found the cure then you can't have TLoU continue as a series or you would have to change the name to "All of us that made it" or something.

I also would like to see Uncharted 4 first. Naughty Dog is going to do great things on the PS4, and Uncharted 4 will definitely sell some systems.

Well for me Uncharted is complete and finished. I only say that because … I really do not think there is much more than could do that is different and not already done. The most they could do is change to a new location in the world like say Japan or India or something on those lines but storywise.

As for a sequel to LoU…. IF, IF they do one I know what I would like to see. I would like to see some character, new preferably, try to locate the original out break and original strain of the infection… to find a cure. I don't want it to turn in to another zombie like game that has them wandering around to just kill infected and bandits to just survive. I would like an interesting story.

Either way, my concern is they do not go the way of other devs and milk the series to nothing. Its on a high and I would like it to stay on a high.

I know whatever ND does and what teams they put on to whatever project, they will not sacrifice story either journey or if its a new IP… it will most likely be a hell of a ride!

Keep playing!

Of the two, TLOU2, only new characters in a new part of the US/world. But you should know my real answer by now 😉

I have to say I would prefer TLoU first. Uncharted is a little burnt out, and I need more time to recover.

The Last of Us. By far the better of the two Intellectual Properties, period. Also as cLoudou said, There is so much more to see and experience in TLoU universe.

Its funny cus either game would be great, however when there is a choice involved all of sudden two games that could be considered best of the gen, maybe of all time could be construed as worlds apart.

I like The Last of Us better than any of the Uncharteds (although Uncharted 2 is damn close) but I'd be content if TLoU was just a one-and-done deal. The Uncharted series lends itself better to sequels, I think, and I can't wait for what seems like the inevitable Uncharted 4. That said, I always think Naughty Dog's best work is done when introducing a new series or making the first sequel to a new IP so while Uncharted 4 may have the best system-selling potential and does have to happen, I think I'm more hyped by the possibility of what ND could deliver when it decides to introduce us to a new gaming universe.

substance and brains over mindless hollywood ooooo look at the peeeeerty fireball, every time!
if they are going to do a LoU sequel though i really wish they would put more character development, world development, and actually make the world feel how it should.

one thing that really takes you out of the experience, your lead to believe the military blasted the place left right and center, exhausted ALL their resources, yet the games so abundant in materials and also everything seems brand new.
its a survival game survival games are suppose to restrict availability, quantity and quality.
not hey we just wondered into michael bays secret stash go crazy!
you dont really need to make anything either which again is counter intuitive to a survival game.
yea you create resources like health kits or IEDs, but i really expected there to be allot more ingenuity.
the abundance of weapons kinda hurt that though.
would of been nice to see a far more emphasized focus on melee weapons and less on guns.
especially with clickers using echolocation, i really thought the game would let you use your imagination and create some sort of long range melee weapon but remain silent, but nope.
grab a broom, tie a piece of glass from a broken bottle on the end and bobs your uncle.
but then again why do that when you have a abundance of machetes?
thats where the absurd mass amount of military hardware hurts the experience.

as for the characters, well some history would be nice.
classic ND mistakes, characters are there just for the sake of being there and never explained or introduced.
theres so many theorys going around the net of jole and tess past, or jole and bills past, or hell just joles past.
or hell just the military past!
its so frustrating that they have created such a intriguing amazing world and let out NOTHING about it!
the infection is based on a real life one that effects insects, how did that evolve to humans?
and did it effect anything else along the way?
the fireflys research never gets explained, everythings just left up in the air as if it never happened.
a amazing connecting story is always one thats well fleshed out and rooted in reality.
ME a perfect example, whos to say there are not other races out there?
whos to say right at this moment the events of the past games are happening right now?
and thats the beauty of MEs story because there is SO much back story, so much information to fill in the cracks and create the illusion of reality.
where that illusion gets broken down is when things dont fit, when things are left in the air and not explained.
nothings explained, everything is left to magical pixie fairys.

Something new. (and without guns; I can dream)

Naughty Dog is clearly a developer who can push the boundaries, and the gun is the single biggest crutch in gaming today. Do something amazing without them.

A new IP for a new generation – although if I had to choose I'd go for TLoU.

But logically I think it's either a new IP or a new Uncharted in their pipeline.

The Last of Us 2. Someone needs to point out how bad the other post apocalyptic theme games look in comparison. There are other continents and so many other stories you could tell in TLoU setting.

I'm betting that if ND revisits the world of The Last of Us it won't be right away. They will probably do a new IP in between. Then maybe go back and make "The Rest of Us" lol.

I want Sony to spend whatever it takes to get the rights to The Legacy of Kain IP and let Amy Hennig finish the damn story already. Defiance gave a certain sense of closure, but obviously left the door open for a more complete resolution of Nosgoth's fate, and I want to experience that.

You know what would be pretty sweet if they eventually made a game set in TLoU timeline, but you met some of the characters from Uncharted.

Lets face it, there is no way Nathan would get infected, he is just too lucky and awesome.

I think that could be a really cool.

Likewise imagine if in the next uncharted game we find out that nathan and in treasure hunted adventure actually had something to do with the spore infection even if it was by accident.

I know Uncharted has mystical elements of sorts, but I think they could blend the characters from both and that could be really cool if done right.

As for what I actually want next, I think people here know that, while I liked TLOU I didn't fall in love with it like most people here, so I would like Uncharted 4 a bit more. MOSTLY because I want them to refine TLOU because I honestly feel like the gameplay needs some tweaking.

Uncharted 2 was the best in the series in my opinion so I hope they make UC4 as captivating as UC2.

However I do want a next gen Jak and Daxter game more than anything 😛

After that Sony should just go ahead and make a game where Kratos and Crash Bandicoot team up and go cruising for chicks, I guess.

I dont know why it would be terrible. They both take place on earth around the same time. I dont get how Nate and Joel are liken to crash and kratos but alrighty.

I think it could be cool, they did something similar with some valve games and it worked out alright, it was really subtly done though.

The connection between Portal and Half Life 2 is implicit throughout the first game and only mentioned in the end credits song, and the only real reason they went that route at all is because the first Portal just used Half Life 2 game assets to complete the indie project Valve bought. If they tried to actually bring Gordon Freeman and Chell into contact with each other through a narrative it would be pretty silly, for the same reason bringing a treasure hunter in modern day life and an alcoholic survivor in a dystopian wasteland would be pretty silly. What would the narrative even be?

Something new entirely. Naughty Dog have always reinvented itself and I don't see why that should change.

It's funny how the industry decries sequels but when it comes to Naughty Dog, a desire for sequels is frequently perpetuated from this site.

Not that that's a bad thing! It just discomforts me a little is all, and I don't want to expect anything so specific from Naughty Dog because in my view, that's part of the charm behind their games.

You never really know what will happen (sequel or otherwise) despite the glutton of information on the internet for whatever game they're currently doing.

I'd say neither. Uncharted's story is wrapped up as far as I'm concerned. So is TLOU. The universe may have more stories that can be told, but it would take a hell of a plot to even think of having Joel and Ellie go another crazy adventure.

Both franchises to me are wrapped up in terms of their core characters.

If I HAD to pick, I'd pick TLOU. I can imagine stories with other characters being told, but as for Uncharted, there's very little else they could do with it from a story standpoint to me.

Tlou for me. There's just so much they can do with the world. I know they'll bring Drake back but they have to do so with a bang as Uncharted 3 was not a step above Uncharted 2

The Last Of Us.
Fallout style, with exploration and survival being the key elements blended in with scarcity of everything including food, health items, and ammo. But only at certain points can you explore. The story would bring you around to places in a linear fashion but once your back home, or even a new home, you can explore the land around you. I would love that.

Uncharted 4 if it has something to do with atlantis. I feel like jungle, mountains, and deserts has been done so the mystery of the ocean would be awesome. Either game, it will be top notch.
